where's the Numerology section ?

I'm not 100% sure what numerology is. I've got kind of a basic idea. Do you want to explain the concept a little bit please?

 

Ethera, it's basically the belief that there is an esoteric connection between numbers and existence as we know it.

I'm not sure too many people here would really be into numerology to be honest, at least not in the "mystical sense." Other wise I'm sure people are very interested in mathematics and it's descriptive nature of our universe.

Personally I always took interests in Pythagoras (sp?). At first because I play stringed instruments and he was a lute player that used mathematics to help develop the modern day fret board as we know it (ie. pressing down on certain points of the string allows for a shorter string and therefore a higher or lower frequency aka pitch). Eventually I began to learn more about his approach to life and he truly believed that mathematics could describe reality, and was perhaps the first person to do so. He's less associated with Numerology today though and more with pseudomathmatics (sp?) because they've developed hundreds, if not thousands of more formulas since his days and he therefore does not always subscribe to what we would hold to be "traditional" mathematics in today's sense of known equations.

Anyways, try to petition for one....I think it'd be pretty nice to have one as well, and it'd be an opportunity for others to teach me more about the subject as I already know very little other than it's supposed "meaning."

there is alot to numerology, i am no expert but what i have looked up is that certain numbers have meaning. such as the popular lucky number 7, energetic 3, lucky/unlucky 13[it seems to be bipolar], the knowledge number 33 and so on.

as for the mystical sides of numerology there are those specifics numbers, 11 is said to be the number of the devil [supposably one greater then god].
and dont forget the mark of the beast 666.


alot of numerolgy is decoding some aspects of a person's life or event.
the most obvious decodeable aspect [for lack of a better word] would be dates

ex. -

9 / 13 /1991

9+1+3+1+9+9+1 = 33

[thats my birthday =p]


i find it interesting, but the stuff i've found on it is really varied.

 

The number 13 is not unlucky, it is perhaps one of if not the most holy of numbers.

12 around 1.

13/4 - Creation, order, system, structure, order out of chaos. Four is literally the baseline of our existance.

Numerology holds weight in esoteric terms because numbers are vibrations, just as everything else in this reality is some form of vibration.

You are literally your name, not because of the letters, but because of the vibrations behind the numbers that represent your letters.

It is no accident that you are named who you are.

 

If any number could be considered "the most holy" (which is somewhat ludicrous -- kind of like saying Leos are the "most holy" star sign because the Sun is dominant there) it would be the master numbers, particularly 11 and 22.

13 in its destructive manifestation represents the application of spiritual energy for the purposes of aggrandizing the separative identity as well as fixation on the world of form at the expense of Spirit. In its positive manifestation, it is associated with ingenuity and mental agility as well as dramatic positive shifts in consciousness and status in the material world (e.g. the "prince and the pauper" phenomenon). 13 is a misunderstood number, to be certain, but by no means is it "the most holy" of numbers.

Most metaphysical phenomena operate on several levels simultaneously. The vibrations behind the numbers that represent the letters do not necessarily correspond with the the vibratory energy of the soul attached to that name. Conversely, one could have a congruent vibration between soul and name as well as letters that when deciphered correctly reveal greater meaning.

It could very well be an "accident" in the sense that I described above -- a soul vibration not corresponding to a name vibration. I actually met a woman once who changed her name as a result of this exact phenomenon.

Truth isn't something to be encapsulated in cute little cliche phrases like "there are no coincidences", or "you create your own reality", etc. etc. Ultimately, the only real way to experience universal truth is by having the courage to face reality without the safety net that beliefs provide.

Of course there are exceptions and variables in the system, Travis. There are many factors and non-factors determining an indentity's soul essence or substance.

Whilst birthing on this plane of existance, there are many impressions left upon an individual, the name being one of them, astrological alignment the other - and many more as you can imagine.

I understand that truth and reality cannot be confined, and certainly not by any cliche statements.

I wasn't implying that there are no coincidences, and I am certain that you create your own reality.

What you think, you become. We literally live in our own individual reality holding our own personal truth based around our thoughts. We are thinking beings, constantly thinking, constantly creating reality through what and how we think.

Does that sum up the whole of reality? Of course not, as there are other factors at play in this game called life.

But on a basic level, those statements hold weight. Synchronicity exists.

 

I see that I am once again pushing you too far too fast. As a result, I would only like to take this opportunity to wish you well in your observations of synchronous events (establishing an experiential sense of the higher order of the universe) and in your creation of your reality (establishing an experiential understanding that consciousness is the fundamental creative force in the universe). I would also encourage you to reflect on this fundamental principle of existence: the states induced by your metaphysical inclinations are natural expressions of the true nature of your being. It is the realization of that nature that is your ultimate goal, a realization that continues to elude you, although certainly in an appropriate enough way.

How come there are so many "stereotypical" names than?
