Well I figured I wanted to start one of these, so I can keep track on them. It's been 17 great days so far...

They're losing the 'twist' shape which is good, though you can still see it in alot of them. My favorite one's at the bottom

    No.

They were twisted because when I backcombed it would not stay in, at all. Like, yeah they were supposed to be loose but not that loose. And she didn't backcomb too tight, 'cause I didn't want to loose the length (Little did I know that shortening happens regardless of which method I used.

It's coming out well I suppose, I like it alot, though the twists in some place are knotted and locked together on some of the smaller ones and I don't wanna deal with them. The bigger ones with noticeable twists are fine, I think they're pretty cool looking haha

Well it was started with sectioning off w/ 1 inch sections near the back & bottom, but they got bigger and more random up top, up to 2 inches. They wouldn't stay in to save my life, and they would unravel in about 5 mins, so a friend of mine told me to twist them together kind of like a rope, so that's what we did.

Oh and around day 4 I unraveled a few of them by hand (Ripping any knots) and backcombed alot, because they looked too much like braids. I probably damaged some of the hair by re-backcombing, but it's still jammed in there. Somewhere.

Basically - backcomb lightly then rip the section apart, twist lightly into two strands, then twist them together like a rope.
We put rubber bands at the roots & tips for a week and a half, then I took them out. I personally wish I hadn't done it this way, though I like the outcome.

methinks you're gonna regret twisting. they're gonna hang awkwardly. you have some nice hair though.

Yeah I hope I won't regret it anymore than I already do :p
As far as the hanging, I'm not sure what you mean but they all hang fine, it's just that I have wavy hair and the ends curl up alot, so that's probably why mine aren't straight now :p

    BRB WAX.

It'll all be good in the end, they dont pay much attention to what you do at the start anyway.

Also flash diffusers are like mana from heaven, I use a paper napkin.

    well twisted hair isnt dreads.
u cant say "nice dreads!" to someone with twists.
same reason u cant tell people that are neglecting and only have nappy hair "nice dreads!"
u either have dreads or u dont.
and if u dont, u dont and theres not getting around it.

Stick with it dude. With your length in about 6 months they are going to start to look wicked. I'm taking a punt and saying you wont be able to see the "twists" by then either.

Thanks for the great comments guys, it helps for those times of having thoughts about combing out

And yeah I know they aren't dreads, but it's kinda like how people say 'Black People' instead of 'African American' you know? :p I just call the locks or my hair, but when I'm in a rush or just don't care much I say dreads. And lmao @ the nappy hair part, I agree 100% with that

    braddah they are looking decent.

Perhaps if you put some beads in your hair they may lock up faster. Just a suggestion

Well I took all of them out except around 3. I didn't need them really, just for a couple days since most/all in the back were flat. Feels better w/o all that fuckin' weight

I would actually remove most of the beads, since untill the hair is really knotted up, theyl leave lil unknotted patches in them when theyre mature, i have a dread like that, but ehh doesnt matter
