I'm convinced that this is by far the absolute worst movie I've ever seen in the 31 years I've been on this earth.

anyone watch this very very very stupid movie?

Ugh.. there was an original ? I should have clarified.. The one I'm talking about is the one Nicholas Cage played in...

And now that you tell me there's an original, I hate the remake even more. They probably ruined a classic movie!! :)

oh man, am i ever glad i didn't see this remake - what a load of crap! not only am i tired of seeing Nicolas Cage in all these flicks that don't fit his style, but it sounds like they perverted the best bits of the original movie - an ancient pagan cult governed by a Druidic patriarch in rural Britain is much more believable than a relatively "modern" sect governed by a priestess in the Pacific northwest.....ugh!

see the original when you get a chance - it may move a bit slow for today's viewer, but Sir Christopher Lee is impeccable in his performance, and the original story is creepily good :)

There is a remake? Ew.... I could barely take the first one, you would have to tie me to the chair to sit thru two hours of the remake. Theres things Cage does well, but I dont think this one would be his best work!

Is that the one with nick cage? 'cause that movie was horrible. I watched all of it hoping it would get better - it never did.

Yep.. hated it. Haven't seen the original though.. Wonder if it would be any good... Had the possibility of being a good story.

When I first saw it years back, I actually had the impression it was a good movie. (I must have just been looking at the scenery). Recently, I was told by my boyfriend it was an unbelievably bad movie (and not believing him), I watched it again.
    It was horrible.

Aha, I saw it done with Rifftrax... it's not even so bad it's good, it's just bad. BAAAAAAAAAD.

Supposedly the original is great, I might check it out if I am able to blot out the memory of seeing the Nick Cage disaster vehicle beforehand.

While the wickerman is terrible, theres a few movies out there based on stories by H.P. Lovecraft that make the wickerman seem like an academy award nominee

Yes that's one of them; but there are a few other more recent movies that
    were equally awful

dude the original Wicker Man is a CLASSIC. It succeeds in being one of the most fucked up, trippy ass movies ever, it's funny, it's scary, it's a MUSICAL. I watched it when I was 12, went through it going "what the fuck is this?" and then got seriously messed up by the ending. I have it on DVD, watch it every few months... made the mistake of watching it while on peyote once, way too much.

I was so pissed off when I saw the new one.

The Wicker Man is probably one of the most unique horror movies ever made and probably the greatest from Britain. It's absolutely genius in every way a great horror film should be; the only movie to ever bring me to tears almost every time I've ever watched it just by how brilliant it is.

    The remake was funny:

"How'd it get burned? HOW'D IT GET BURNED!?... HOW'D IT GET BURNED HOW'D IT GET BURNED!?" *Cage proceeds to punch every woman in the movie.
