He has done this country a lot of good, and it is a damn shame that the man had to resign.

I respect his decision, but his strong and unwavering stance will be missed.

Alas, his replacement is a wishy-washy Powell clone.

    Too bad.

What would we do without the "Let the Eagle Soar" video? Isn't life so much easier now that the FBI is infiltrating peace activist groups and green party members are banned from flying?

Here is some reputation to show how much I appreciate you.

I'm placing this thread on Orange Alert due to the possibility a terrorist may be reading it. And to any of you european's who support a regime that invades a foreign country under false pretenses. I would suggest you read up on your 20th century history.

From my research, I believe that this new guy is crazier than Ashcroft himself.

Out goes the man intent on tossing civil liberties out the window in the name of security--in comes the man who set the precedent for the Abu Graib (sp?) and Guantanamo prison abuses by declaring that the Geneva Conventions ( as quaint and antiquated) won't apply to us in the "war on terror."

...I'm feeling better about a second Bush term already.

Every policy instituted by Ashcroft was dictated to him by Gonzales in accordance with the administration's PNAC-led agenda. So thinking that Gonzales offers any greater respect for Constitutional rights and guarantees is utterly naive.

True, this guy has said in the past that he though toture of people SUSPECTED of terrorism was morally justified and called the geneva convention "quaint."
