Just washing it when dirty and ripping it apart when it congos. I have a baddd habit of pulling at them when I'm nervous, which has gotten way worse since I quit smoking (almost 6 months now)... but besides my nervous fidgeting, I basically leave them alone.

They're beads. I make them and sell them on here when there is anyone who wants to buy them.

    Ohh I get it now.
You might wanna take them out though because after a week or so they turn into a goo and your dreads will eat them. It can be pretty hard to get it out aswell
or is that wraps I am thinking about?

Well you don't need to buy cheap ass rubber bands. I had mine in (Roots & Tips, and a few more on the body of them) for a good week and a half, and all they did to mine was leave behave like a trap for residue from normal shampoo that I washed with once. Took them out fine... though my bottom ones... I had to fight them to get'em out. Oh and none of them melted, not even a little bit.

I don't know but it helped mine form up and keep its sections nicely, it also trained my hair to stay in place aswell. Kinda like a hat :p

^Awesome! I maybe I will wrap mine in garden vine
Also dreads will only stay in place if wax is used right?

Try Alow Vines, prickly sides in, I heard when they start to dry up and die, the aloe comes out, moisturizing ones hair.
