Do you think there would be any harm getting in a creek with a kinda bad cut on the bottom of your foot? I don't think there's anything to worry about but some people seem to think its a bad idea. I can't walk barefoot because it kinda hurts to talk on it but swimming obviously wouldn't be a problem. Not being able to go barefoot is PISSING ME OFF!
Watch this: http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=news/local&id=6882268 I wouldn't worry about it, but be aware.
oh, i know the answer to that! my husband went to the creek in july, got bit by a spider, and the creek water gave him a horrible infection. his foot swelled up, even the ankles. was hospitalized for 4 days, got out on his birthday. i go swimming in the creeks all the time in the summer. but if you have a open cut, HELL NO!
Unless Your Swimming Downstream From A Sewage Treatment Works,.:ack2: I'd Say Go For It.. Keep Em Bare... Cheers Glen.
i always wear my creek shoes. its hard to swim with them on though, probably cus i got them at walmart
depends on where the creek is. the rivers around here all have signs posted that you will become ill if you go near the water; i wouldn't go in there perfectly healthy, let alone with an open wound. if it's reasonably clean, then i don't really see a problem with it. but then again, if it's such a bad cut that it hurts when you talk, maybe you should just go to the ER.
Is it a creek near any sort of chemical place? Like....even a field of crops, a lot of people use chemicals and whatnot. If not, I would say it's safe. I've swam in a creek before with a cut on my foot, but I also cleaned it after I got out, as I did the rest of my body.
Thanks guys im not sure how clean it is... the water isn't brown and it is steadily moving. I think im just gonna stay out of it til it heals for the most part... Thanks for all the responses!
i like to go barefooted on the beach or when i am in the country side, on the grass. but i love shoes. i have never thought of walking barefoot in the city. i just love shoes.
well i should think that would rather obvious depend on where the water in the creek had been. also where it's going down stream.
