needed a box set to keep me occupied wen im being lazy so my bro lent me season 1 of 24 and Im hooked already! Im also very happy knowing that Ive got literally days of catching up to do! I will not be bored 4 a while
my dads got all the box sets and is slowly working his way through them. hes rented then copied them on computer. i might give them a go at some point, they seem addicting.
The first two or possibly three series are really good, then it all goes downhill and they start basically being Fox News and trying to justify Jack's "any means necessary" in the war on terror by reference to the Bush doctrine and the USA's real life use of torture... in the first couple of series the use of torture was an agonising moral dilemma frowned upon by a liberal President, in the last ones everyone is happily doing it all the time, encouraged by a right wing administration, with loads of explication showing how it is, in fact, justified given the circumstances! Sickening stuff really...
well for now I like it and we'll see how it goes,I could possibly see it getting a bit predictable after a while but then Ill just have to find something else to cure my bordeom
meh, it's repetitive, I watched season 4 or 5, which ever is the one with the corrupt president, there is some great suspsence in the episodes which makes it hard to wait for the next episode. But after a Season or two it just gets boring, it's always the same, jack bauer moves in to save the world > terrorists are winning through out > at last he does defeat them > by using non-conventional methods, aka torture etc... "because it has to be done"
