Goof is the biggest insult? that doesn't sound so bad to me

The biggest insult in the australian crime world apparantly is "Dog" and the Germans traditionaly used "swinehund" or "pig Dog" as their biggest insult

 

We say 'scurfy' if something is dirty or gross, oh and pop for soda but a lot of people say that.

 

"You don't frighten us, English pig-dogs!"

When I lived in Colorado I remember hearing a lot of people say "you's guys." Here it's y'all.

Another one from the West I haven't heard in a while is "grip." Used the same as "Heaps." That guy smokes a grip of pot.

10 for 2 - going downtown with someone to get cheap wine "you wanna go 10 for 2 tonight?"
doctorbs - doctors that are quacks
crucified - when someone gets in trouble
good deal - said when something positive occurs

 

It means someone is really sarcastic or that they sulk a lot

 

That is weird because I've heard most of those most of my life... The "take away" thing is different... I'm used to "carry out", but the rest I thought were pretty common here too. Maybe they're just used more in the midwest than Cali.. I dunno...

Edit: I think my favorite slang though is usually stuff that is not common around here... Like when LauraMay taught me, "Can't be fucked" means can't be bothered, I decided to try to make it popular around here cause I love the way it sounds...

 

lol yeah 'can't be fucked' is pretty common here, im surprised it's not global!
me and my sister tell each other to "shut your fuck" pretty often, but i think that's just us

How do you not like that? "You want to go to the mall later?"... "Naw, I can't be fucked"... or "Hey, can you run some errands for me, I can't be fucked right now?"... I think it's the best phrase ever...

I find a LOT of Australians refer to their partner as their "other half". Bogans for the most part. Is this common elsewhere?

A "bogan" is the Australian equivalent of a redneck, maybe with less negative connotations. If somebody called me a bogan I wouldn't feel insulted.
