Wooohoo! In my opinion this is awesome! I have no idea how you guys can make such beautiful things, but it's definitely cool.
Thanks... I do it for a living actually. I am blessed to do so. I also teach wire wrapping with my dvds. Totally worth getting into. Did $1200 at my last craft show on a weekend. I enjoy what I do and try to help others make extra cash by teaching.
wow this is beautiful! I have my first fair this saturday and I am nervous. Me and my friend have been making pendants together. She has taught me some beadwork too that she learnt when she was in Columbia. But I'd love to learn more. Do you have any helpfull hints on selling ideas? I'd greatly appriciate your help and would love to know more about your dvds Lindsay eace:
Hey Luxiebow... jewelry can be an easy sell at a show... if done right. If you are shy... you better drink a pot of coffee. If you are talkative... you better be on your game. I've found that making a customer laugh with a witty joke can be an ice breaker for some. I know I know... what kind of joke!? I tell people that this stuff over here is my artwork... and the stuff over here (cheap stuff) is what I make when my wife is snoring and I can't sleep. Ha Ha... CHA CHING. So much truth in that too. Anyhow... Just make sure you engage the people walking by. Just say... "Hey... have you ever seen anything like this!?" Once they come over... pull out the joke and then explain a little of what you do. Be upbeat. What kind of show are you doing? How many vendors? Matt
aww, thanx for your help well I'm definitely talkative and can be funny too so will try cracking some jokes. we have some realli lovely stuff, we use opalite, amethyst, jade, rose quartz and turquoise. We make earings and pendants, we have a lot to learn so keep it simple but pretty. Then we make some othe necklaces with turquoise and shells. Everything is pretty and different. We have other stuff too, candle holders and trinkets. I'm not sure what the fair will be like till we get there though-I'm excited! were going to make lucky bags too and be making hair braids on the side
Sounds like you have your hands full. Good luck at your show. Tell us how it went. I have my last show this weekend. Make sure you have low, medium and high priced items. I try to price my work fairly but you know how people can be.
yah we have a selection of prices. soom wodden pieces that are cheaper than the stones. I hate seeing handmade stuff that is wayyyy over priced. we wanna make a profit but for people to get a good piece for a good price still. I'll tell you how it went and take pictures too
Those beads are really cool! I have always wanted those kinds but they are so expensive at art fairs and stuff.
