I don't know, but I am not going there again because I clicked on some picture that was not what I thought it to be.
And a lot of 4channers aim to be as offensive as possible. It is nothing special, although they have played some great pranks like trolling Oprah's message board and having her repeat their words on national television.
it's this decades version of hippies. which should make you all cry when you realize that they are our future.
You don't want to know. 'twould be best if you remained ignorant, believe me. Actually it is, like somebody said, a sort of forum thingy that is centered around image uploads. Except unlike most forums pretty much anything goes. And everyone is anonymous. So random pictures of the raunchiest most uncomfortable and sickening pornography or other things that fit that descriptions are standard and expected there. If you want to know more you'll have to find out from somebody else. I stay far away from chan country. As for being this decade's version of hippies. . . No.
Aw, hell. This whole time I was thinking that ""Metaphor"" was the use of one thing to represent another. But I guess you know something I don't.
it is. that's the problem with what you said hippies were more than one thing. they filled an "ecological niche" which /b/tards are filling now. (another metaphor) saying neohippies are filling that same "ecological niche" is farcical, neohippies are closer to the boyscouts and brownies of the early '60's.
There are basically no rules at all. Why not check it out? Your eyes won't fall out or anything. It is a *.org, not a *.com address. The thing about it that bugs me the most is that most people post anonymously, so you never get to know anybody.
You assign too much credit to the /b/tards. Pranksters, yes. Revolutionaries, no. Merely a buncha basement dwellers. :toetap05:
Imagine random thoughts, except every member is bravesirrubin. I've never been there, but I think it's a pretty accurate description.
You assign too much credit to the hippies. I don't see how you can credit hippies as revolutionary on a large scale, when our world is more capitalist, apathetic, ignorant, spiritual-less, closed minded, extremist, politically ran, legally fucked, media-controlled, etc. than it ever was in the 60s (or even 50s). If anything, their efforts (although revolutionary ideas) had a backwards effect on the masses.
