I'm serious. It hasn't happened lately but for a while I had this recurring "dream" where I felt the need to escape into reality but couldn't. I was awake but my body was totally immobile; my legs and arms felt chained to the bed as i fought and screamed but there was no sound. Not until the nightmare was over did I awake with the same intensity as if someone were underwater until they lost air and swims to surface.

Its like your mind awakens before your body... Your still out of it from the dreaming and being in deep REM sleep, and at the same time, your body hasnt "woken up" yet, so your paralyzed, leaving to feel your still in a fucked up dream.

I've gotten that before when I was younger...you get this dream that you KNOW is a dream but you can't wake up no matter how hard you try?

If you have enough control over the dream then just get yourself to yell "Wake Up!" Demand the dream to let go of you immediately, and that's an effective way to do it (at least for me).
