I have managed to convert a few forumers into fans of the Australian TV series, "Wilfred". It is a good watch for anybody that likes arty, off-beat comedy:

My most recent fascination is Twin Peaks. I'm really enjoying it, but I wish there was less "soap opera" and more David Lynch style insanity.

i like House :hat: Hugh Laurie is so foxy
i also like Lie To Me and Gossip Girl. GG is actually a predictable, mediocre show but its too easy to get sucked in (the good looking guys help). i remember last year i stopped watching it because i was too busy...i was so proud of myself and finally free from it. i couldnt resist once i got back to school. i think thats the number one show on my campus. practically every tv room in each dorm is dedicated to monday night gossip girl.

Most HBO and Showtime stuff is great. Generation Kill, The Wire, Deadwood, Californication, Dexter, Entourage, Rome, etc. I'm watching True Blood at the moment, and it's pretty cool.

It is a bit like soft core porn with a better story, for sure. Think Red Shoe Diaries with real plot...

I haven't watched Dexter, but to be honest it doesn't really seem like my cup of tea... but I'm more a comedy/drama kinda guy (read as Sopranos, The Wire, Weeds, Califorication etc) than a horror/suspense kinda guy. I find myself trying to dissect them and figure them out ahead of time too much to enjoy them. I have heard almost nothing but good about it from people who I take recommendations from.

    Dexter is funny though.

and the mystery isn't bad, I mean, like, you can see me asking questions about things well before you're supposed to know them, so clearly, anyone familiar with television story structure can take apart the "mysteries" early enough in that it's not a problem.

I mostly watch crime documentaries like Forensic Files and stuff about space and the universe.

See that'd piss me off though.... to sit there and go, "I know what's going on"... or "I could bet my house that [this] is going to happen"... That is why I do not watch "horror" movies these days. Most of them depend on graphic violence (blood/gore) too much to be any good, and the ones that try to be truly suspenseful are usually epic fails in my opinion. I like sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what's gonna happen next. The last movie I can think of, horror wise, that did that for me was Skeleton Key. I thought I had it figured twice before the ending hit and I was wrong on both.

(back on topic) I will eventually get around to watching Dexter, but as I said the other day, I have to prioritize and it takes me about a week to finish one season, so it'll be a good few months before I make it through all the series I've set my mind on: House(Haven't started), Weeds(Season 4), Sopranos(Season 2), Entourage(Season 1), Rome(Haven't started), Torchwood(Season1), The Wire(Haven't started), and I think that is it for now... Once I've made my way through those I'll see what is currently available and make a new list, which Dexter may very well be on if for no other reason than a lack of other ideas.

There are hundreds of quality, great tv shows, but they were all made during the 1950s-early 1980s.It's unfortunate that only a limited number get shown in re-runs.
