For positive reasons e.g. surfing in Hawaii
Or negative reasons e.g. I've had enough of this shitty country/weather?

I'm half German by blood, and have thought of moving to Berlin
I also like the passion of the Italians, and the chique of the French

I've thought about moving to Canada.
I love where I live, but it would be fun to live somewhere else and to see if it alters me in anyway.
I'd give it 6 months, if all it changes is my accent, then I'd come home.

I lived in France for a few years, but it wasn't really emigrating obviously
We did consider Australia very briefly. We have barely any family here and Scott was unhappy in his work and we had no money at the time, he was dreaming of a nice big house in the sun and a more relaxed atmos and all that lot. It was too vast though and we won't have the funds for many years even if we still wanted to

Now the plan is to move back to France in a few years time. The timing is completely dependent on a few major things were working through at the moment. We want a little cottage by the sea

I have a feeling we will live in at least one other country though, even if just for a short while

I've thought of living in India for a while, or travelling Latin America, but there'll always be a corner of my heart, whatever foreign field it's in, that will be forever England....

Australia is great if you like a laid back lifestyle, perfect weather and better wages, but it just isn't that interesting. There is plenty of culture, but not culture you can immerse yourself in like in Europe.

I think I will always call this place my home but I would give anything to live a few more years in the UK again.

I was and still am thinking about moving to Canada after the military, France would've been my first choice but Canada is more realistic. Healthcare is a big issue for me along with community political activism and Canada has a good deal of both, of which keeps Canadians healthier than us (and at a lower cost, bastards) and their government seemingly more transparent. Also American politics are filled with spin on both sides you can't tell the sleaze from the not-so-much-sleaze and it's beyond unnerving.

I think about it all the time. My friend recently moved to Mexico, and she's trying to persuade me to move out there with her. I'm very tempted, I may go if I can get the cash together.

I thought about it several times during the 80s, when things were much worse then they are in this recession.
