Wonder what kind of bad blood these two guys had between them... I mean this is like getting blindsided by a mack truck... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac-JYp25Bx0&feature=related
The yards are less expensive for USC than the people they're injuring. bad sportsmanship, good strategy.
The majority of the time though punt returners aren't a major part of the offense... I mean it's not completely true, but they don't usually expose their superstars to extra hits when it's not necessary... To do that to somebody I really think it has to be personal... Edit: Either way, it's a nasty hit for sure...
but I can't imagine their coach letting that happen if it didn't have any value. and the second hit was the ninth punt of the game, so, clearly, there was a lot of punt returning going on, ruining two of the kansas state punt returners is a good way to make them tire out more critical players.
Awesome. Almost makes me want to watch this sport. Maybe if they didn't wear those pansy-ass helmets, I would.
Even with the fact that it was a fair catch and the guy never even saw it coming? I mean I still don't have a problem with it, cause the guy wasn't seriously injured... but damn... If somebody hit me like that, I'd kill 'em
Pft. That's no biggie. This is an offense that might warrant vengeance (although it was an act of revenge itself - ended the other guy's career)
i don't like the fair catch rule, so yes, outside it being a high hit, i have no reason to not like a hit like that
If you listen a bit past the hit a lil bit they say that the returner had bitched Polamalu on a couple attempted tackles previous to that... Polamalu had been thrown down by him twice that game while trying to tackle him.... he was just pissed...
good thing he got him then. seriously though, still, decent strategically, perhaps not tactically, but strategically, good move.
It would've boon worthy of the #1 all-time spot... That mini-segment was the only thing I ever liked about Eli Manning... If it had been a your normal story line show, he would've been the leading actor... :cheers2:
