Help a wannabe chemist?

I'm looking into producing some hallucinogens but I have, well, pretty much no educational background in chemistry. Any fairly powerful hallucinogens that can be fairly easily cooked?

I'm gonna start growing some datura inoxia, and salvia divinorus, and maybe even some 5-MeO-DMT when the right situation presents itself, but I'd like to be able to apply myself and come up with some real drugs.

Anyone who knows what they're doing and could be of some assistance would be appreciated. I may even be able to provide you with some little known information on a drug you've probably never even heard of that a 5th grade moron could cook.

 

You're silly.
"cooking" is the easiest part. Getting the chemicals is the real challenge.
With this approach you're never going to make anything, especially if you're not even disposed to grow salvia or datura.

I've never made anything but a few incindiaries/explosives. Never toolater to learn though. We all start somewhere. I'm just trying to gether enough info start set up shop of some sort, you know?

 

What is Methcathinone. Never heard of that before...

 

Methcathinone is the oxidation product of ephedrine/pseudoephedrine, and is used recreationally as a stimulant. It is about the simplest recreational drug to manufacture, requiring only precursors that can be bought OTC. If you can't make this one, you have no future as a drug chemist!

Methcathinone is a schedule I drug, as illegal to manufacture as methamphetamine or LSD. So manufacturing it entails certain risks, which you need to learn to deal with if you wanna be a clandestine chemist....

 

You know of any online sources to start reading up on Chem 101 or what not?

 

As far as online sources, many universities offer chemistry tutorials online, and a Google search for these would be a good place to start. The best online resource specific to recreational drug chemistry is the Rhodium Chemistry Archive:

2 books that should be in your library are "The Organic Chem Lab Survival Guide" by James Zubrick, and "The Construction and Operation of Clandestine Drug Laboratories" by "Jack B. Nimble". Neither of these actually deal with very much CHEMISTRY, but they teach how to work SAFELY with chemicals and glassware, which is essential to this type of endeavor.

Dude I see slim chance that you will make anything, not that I do not see hope for you,its just that you are not really understanding it. from what you have typed above you need some help.
First off Throw away the Datura, if anyone disagrees with me sorry, but that has got to be one of the worst five drugs on the face of the earth. I recommend you not take any. The salvia could be cool, but do you even have a plan on what to do. There is way better options than just the leaves. You absolutely need to learn basic chemistry first. then just read up all you can all the time about your subject. Then buy pihkal and tihkal and read them through very thoroughly. It would also help if you had an experienced friend to help, but it is possible to learn.

 

Go to school and study chemistry.

 

Ok heres what you do, you go to school you never ever forget me and become great friends with me because I need a chemist for making LSD. And I wouldn't just be using you for your talents I would even truely be your friend. Remember that.

 

if your trying to synthesize LSD forget it...its horribly complicated and no chem 101 class is gonna get you there... and Antimatter is right getting the chemicals is very hard...you'd need a lab manual or something to order them then you'd probably end up on a DEA list

 

Start studying math...you're going to need it.

 

do tons of research on erowid and any other ethnogen sites you can find, find a simple way to make cid, put it out on the web and make millions making it at home. ive skimmed over a few of the full procedures for making it though and it doesnt seem to leave much room for error (you might want to test it on a expendable pet before testing it yourself).

 

If I were you I would order some mimosa hostilis root bark. It containd DMT and 5MeO-DMT. You could then use an acid/base extraction to get the desired alkaloids. Before you try this you should research it untill you completly understand the process. Check out www.erowid.org you should be able to find what you're looking for.

 

I have been studying the 5th edition prac. meth. man., sources, practical clandestine lab operation, and even the video cookin crank with uncle fester for years now and I still wouldn't put the money up for glassware or chems. I just bearly learned how to calculate a mole of substance, and that's only because I'm studying for school in the spring. It's somthing I'm really interested in so my major is Bio. science, with lots of organic chemistry. OOOOOOHHHHHHH I can't wait. And the the state pays,hehehe.

 

Buy PIHKAL and TIHKAL before the republicans have four more years in congress.

 

PIHKAL and TIHKAL are great collections of "recipes", but they won't teach you much chemistry. In fact, the second half of each book will make little sense unless you already KNOW a bit of chemistry.

A good introductory O-chem textbook would be a better starting point than either of Shulgin's books, I'm afraid....

 

It's very useful to have a solid school-taught chemistry background for anything. Personally I would not recommend you manufacture drugs unless you're very prepared for it and know your stuff inside and out. Once you manufacture and begin to sell, the police will have a reason to hunt you down, and they will try.

If you're just making it for yourself, and only in a temporarly 'lab' make sure you dispose of the dangerous chemicals SAFELY and do NOT just pour them down the drain. You'll really hurt the environment and you could create dangerous gas buildups in your pipes which could cause them to rupture. Manufacture is not something to be taken lightly.

Know where you can get rid of the chemicals safely, know your science, understand what would happen to you if you got caught.

I don't know if I would go as far as to say ...you can't do it unless you go to school for it....I'm in school right now ..as a chemistry major...alot of the guys that are in with me started out in their efficiency apartments with little distillation kits and all sorts of library chemistry books....I don't want to go into details about their various accomplishments...but..I can tell you that if you have a strong desire to learn this on your own..you can get yourself there!!! ....just look at the 6:00 news occasionally..I'd be willing to bet that dude in hand cuffs being led out of his ghetto dwelling never had any college chemistry training...yet...police confiscated 150gs in cold hard cash and enough chemicals and glassware to make a meth heads mouth water......go figure??....I wouldn't advise going in the direction of cladestine labs.......but...if you want to...you don't really need a professor........you CAN slip in a course or two...if you don't mind fronting a few hundred dollars at a community college.
