What he did had nothing to do with basketball or his players or the university. It isn't even illegal. Why is anyone talking about him being fired?

i don't know who that is.

i'm guessing by your post that he's a basketball coach, and firing those guys is quite popular unless they always win.

Rick Pitino apparently had an affair in 2003, paid the woman $3000 to have an abortion, and then she tried to blackmail him out of millions for keeping quiet. She has been charged with felony extortion. He has been charged with nothing.

Hell yes, he wins. He's one of the best.

Because his off-court antics reflect poorly on the university :toetap05:

Oh, I'm sure no other big-ego coach has ever had an affair before. The woman's actions reflect poorly on Rick's luck.

I just saw a discussion on ESPN, and there are rumblings on the web.

hmm He is a great coach, and while it does reflect poorly on the school, it's not worth getting fired over. Nobody would even know about it if he hadn't been the victim of a greed driven crime

I hope he does get fired though. Maybe then he could come coach our boys at Western Michigan :D

In the parking lot, I think. Not a real classy move, but not illegal either.

According to USA Today, his contract has a clause that allows them to fire him for bringing bad publicity on the school. So they have an out, if they want it. Where are they going to find another coach that good to replace him? That's their big dilemma.

I'm sure a lot of schools are hoping he becomes available soon.

They understand that basketball is all about basketball.

Bad role model for players? They are learning that it's risky to fuck the wrong person. That's a lesson worth knowing.
