So I thought this is a great concept and I wanted to share... My boss made everyone in our office download a search toolbar from freelanthropy.com. She's a huge supporter of Ronald McDonald House so we all had to choose that as our charity to support. So every time we search anything on the web the charity gets money instead of the search engine. I just like how simple that idea is and I'm doing exactly what I was doing before when searching but a charity profits from it. Anyone else use Freelanthropy?
I tried using goodsearch, but their toolbar didn't work for me. And I couldn't find a way to see how much I personally raised for the charity.
That is an awesome idea... There's another site sorta like that that is kind of fun. It's a series of quizzes on math or english or science- whatever you are good at, and every one you answer right is worth some rice. If you get enough, it fills up a bowl for a starving child. Can't remember what it is, though... come to think of it, that's a lot of pressure. I don't know why they need us to get the answers right or they won't feed the kids. Why don't they do it on their own?? Anyway...
I like the Freerice.com idea. I wish they combined the Freelanthropy idea and the Freerice idea because the games are fun but it's not something I will do all the time. I search things online all the time and the toolbar is at the top of my browser when I need it.
Well I downloaded it. I picked Earthtrust, but I bookmarked a few others for when I want to switch it up. Thing is, one of my anti-virus programs came up when i pushed the search button and said there was a malware script running... The other one didn't flag it though, so I allowed it. They can get confused sometimes. But any funny business and it's gone.
hmm I have not had problems with it so far... but I'm the same way. If any funny business, it's gone. It does say everywhere that the toolbar does not come with any malware or adware.
Very cool seeing others using Freelanthropy. I've been using it to search for almost 2 years now. I had a teacher that told all her students to use it. I've been mostly supporting Operation Smile. And even if I know a website address I still search through freelanthropy to get to it. I keep on planning on shopping through them as well but I keep on forgetting.
