So, I got a new guitar today from my grandfathers collection, smoked a few bowls, and sat down with my recording equipment and just started playing. This is what came out (I recorded this demo, which is an intro to a longer song), and it's given me an idea for an album concept. Take a listen and tell me what you think. I didn't think about what I wrote, I just wrote it, which is a new approach for me. I used photos of me in the slideshow I uploaded so there is no confusion on the composer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAC227wpyTs Also, there are no drum tracks, vocal tracks or anything. It's all guitar - raw audio.
The middle section was mostly an improv thing. It's intended to be more...soundscape-ish -- and interesting, but unknown break, sort of...idk. lol
I dont like Jimmy Page...I just think the screeching sounds lazy...like hes dragging along a string instead of across it..I dont know guitar but I hate that sound..its like chalkboard fingernails but like I said...the second half...after about 1:14 was really good
In the beginning, there is a track that's nothing but sliding sounds. I liked the sound of the strings. I didn't really spend much time mixing or anything, so it doesn't really blend too well in this recording.
pagey or not, ya gotta get over it. Unless you are a classical guitar fan just about ALL guitar players have imperfect technique. Show me a perfect technique player in rock and I will show you a guitarist devoid of feeling. :hat:
I like Knopfler .Colin James, the late Jeff Buckley....and the peanut butter Joey when he plays like he did in the second part of the video
