if you're lucky you get a good price on them. there used to be a run down gas station by my first apartment where you could get a white owl for 70 cents or two for a buck. at fifty cents a pop thats a good price - a lot of places i've gone to charge a dollar or more per stick. most places buy the boxes to resell individually. you can get the 5 or 6 pack boxes and save a marginal amount, but not a whole lot. so if you smoke blunts primarily and can justify it, knowing you'll work your way through them, i recommend buying a box of blunts online from big cigar companies which have low prices because they deal in such large quantities of tobacco. when a store literally has a warehouse of cigars and sells from the one location to people all over the continent, they can afford to make a small profit per cigar. now most of these places specialize in quality cigars meant to be smoked as they are, not the cheap gross cigars you get in gas stations made with scraps and rolled in paper made from mashed up tobacco leaves and stems - but they realize a lot of people want to buy cheap cigars, too, so most places have a smaller selection of economy smokes, including phillies, white owls, dutch masters, garcia y vega, etc. if you're paying a buck for every shell you're rolling up, you can often cut the cost in half by purchasing a box online. and actually, since the S-CHIP tax passed taxes on cigars is much higher than it used to be, so prices are higher across the board. used to be you could get a box of 50 phillies for 25 bucks, now its about 30, so i expect buying singles in the store is proportionately higher now, too http://www.jrcigars.com/index.cfm?page=cigars this is JR Cigar, one of the better discount distributors. they have two drop down menus in the middle of this page, one for "hand made" and one for "machine made." the machine made cigars will have the ones you can use for blunts. be careful what you get though, some are tipped like black and milds http://www.cigarsinternational.com/html/build/machlistDisp.asp http://www.famous-smoke.com/cigars/search.cfm?N=1000111 4294967219&Ne=1000032 this site is harder to navigate but has better selection of flavored blunts if you prefer wraps to shells, you can still save money online buying cartons. and some brands offer buy-one-get-one deals, making it even more cheap (50 blunts for 20 bucks or something) http://www.rollingpaperwarehouse.com/index.asp?Category=203&PageAction=VIEWCATS i personally think wraps suck compared to shells, but if you dont smoke blunts often enough and dont have a humidor your blunts will get too dry if you use shells, whereas the packaging for wraps keep them a lot fresher a lot longer. anyway, i don't know if anyone smokes that many blunts around here to make this a worthwhile investment, but i also figure some of you might not know about buying cigars online to save money - its how i do it when i want to get quality cigars to smoke, and you can also save a lot of money on the machine mades this way, so i figure i'd share some resources. i don't smoke pot very often these days, so i don't take advantage of this, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't save some money :sifone:
now buying 50-60 blunts at a time sounds excessive, but if youre a heavy smoker and primarily smoke blunts, it can be worthwhile figure you smoke 2 blunts a day generally, thats 14 blunts a week, 28 in two weeks, 42 in three weeks, 56 in a month
Thanks for those links, when I'm at school my friends smoke mad blunts so I'm usually in on it, too. I'll have to suggest these sites to them and see if they all wanna pitch to get a carton of wraps or something like that. Cigars like white owls and the like should not be more than a dollar. It kinda pisses me off. At this one convenient store in my town they sell blunt wraps 2 for 68 cents. I just found out this deal and I'll probably only go there to buy blunt wraps. Any other cigars that they have in the convenience stores around here are mostly stale, anyway.
yeah unless you have a humidor or smoke blunts almost exclusively (i used to smoke 3-4 a day sometimes, i just smoked smaller ones) it would be best for splitting up with a group or something but if you're in a dorm you can also sell them at cost to people so they don't have to go to the store, so they save money, and so you meet some new people and the blunts don't go stale
it took me a long time to learn to roll joints that tasted good. roll up a nice fat cone that burns perfectly and it can taste pretty good.....but the thin, over-wrapped american style joints without the cardboard filter tip taste nasty to me in most cases. if you want a good, pure weed taste either go for a nice big cone joint or glass but blunts are good for a few reasons if you smoke shitty weed. if you smoke shitty weed, it tastes like shit. and it takes a lot to get you stoned. rolling a flavored blunt will help make the smoke taste a lot better, and a regular sized blunt will have more weed in it than most american style joints or a bowl, so it's easier to get high with one "serving." it burns slower than paper, and generally with cooler smoke as a result. now if you roll a really big joint, it will burn a lot cooler than a regular joint. but i find that joints usually tend to burn faster (at least in most cases) than blunts, and while bigger joints burn slower its generally because of the resination - they still burn fast at first. faster burn means more wasted by burning in between hits. a blunt will burn slower than a joint regardless of how thick or thin it is rolled, if all other things are the same i also like the small amount of nicotine you can get from a blunt that will alter the (initial) feeling of the high, though the nicotine wears off long before the weed. this doesn't hit you as hard as the nicotine in cigarette tobacco and is a different feeling than you would get mixing rolling tobacco with herb in a joint. also, while it does change the flavor of the smoke, i often like the change and lately prefer more lightly flavored or even unflavored blunts better than some of the strong tasting ones like phillies. if its good weed especially i like unflavored or lightly flavored cigarillos, but for middies i generally go for a flavor. chocolate, honey, or berry phillies are a favorite for lower quality weed. but yeah, i dont smoke blunts all the time, but once i learned to appreciate them (i used to hate them!) they quickly became a favorite way to smoke. the only downside in my opinion is that they are less conservative than pipes.
i work in a head shop, we dont sell the cigars that you can turn into blunts, but we sell all the Juicy Jay, Kingpin, Royal Blunts and Double Platinum blunt wraps. We sell a box of 25 blunt wraps for $35 taxes in. Each tube/package has 2 or 3 wraps in it, depending on which brand you go with. we're pretty cool about things, so you can pick 25 different flavours if ya want
I personally think they're a waste of weed. So much smoke goes to waste. Whenever my friends wanna smoke one I have to go through a whole speech about how I'm not throwing into a blunt. They can smoke a blunt and I'll toke the bong. It seems like they forget that I don't like blunts..... Almost every god damn day lol.
Well i think that the blunt taste ruins the great weed taste... I still would never pass a blunt though,
blunts make me nauseas... which is weird because i can smoke weed in a pipe without a problem, and i also smoke cigarettes so it's not the tobacco... the overall taste of blunts isn't really my thing. plus my friends and i smoke pretty good headies so it just seems wasteful to throw down like a gram of good weed for one blunt when it can last so much longer in a pipe. though i have to say, blunts definitely get me higher than any other way of smoking i've tried (except bongs of course). anyway good sites though, hardcore blunt smokers would save a decent amount of money doing that.
Anyone know where I can get a case of Dutchmaster Corona Strawberry? Preferably as fresh as possible too.
If you get 50-60 of the same cigars, your gonna start to get sick of that one cigar. I'd rather get one for a day and change it up the next day. Variety is my spice to life.
well, i smoke spliffs every now and then and that doesn't bother me too much either, altough it does more than cigarettes or pipes... i thought marijuana was supposed to calm the stomach i think it's just the way that blunts are flavored, i don't know if it's just the taste or the chemicals used or what... but it's no good...
15 bucks little man put that shit in my hand if the money doesn't show you are ganna owe me owe me ohhhh
In Utrecht we smoked a 7 gram blunt with 16 different strains and 6 types of hash between 5 of us...I dont remember much after that :sifone:
