Internet Courtesy

I just act how I normally do in real life.. I try to be courteous and most times I am, but sometimes that just doesn't happen.

 

Oh it totally was before though, but before RTs got shut down a few long time members went MIA for a while, then when that happened we had people go away from here/other people from the forum find home in here, and our circle was made bigger for better or worse.

There's a wise old saying I like to go by, "Arguing on the internet is like being in the special olympics, even if you win you're still retarded. So I try to keep it as courteous as possible and if someone tries to badmouth me or w/e I just ignore them b/c after all, its the fucking internet. Most people we talk to online we'll never even meet.

people often misinterpret a good/heated discussion for arguing though...and then they toss out all if any respect for the other people involved and it turns into a shitfest

 

RT is rewarmed high school nonsense rewarmed for chronological adults whose minds have yet to catch up. It's a haven for emotionally regressed would-be centers of the known universe... and those who like the entertainment.

Intranets is great for sarcasm but on here there's just far too many idiots. Several great forum regulars and a good mod staff but that's not enough. I'll take shit on the offensive and call people out for their nonsense. Just because the internet is an open place to voice your opinion, doesn't mean you should. If you don't know your shit, then keep it to yourself.

Nothing gets me more than the busted forum. Bunch of morons attempting to give legal advice when they haven't gotten a clue.

Other then that, I like to have friendly conversations with knowledgeable people that can teach me a thing or two. Come in courteous but if it gets immature let people have it.

more than anything, forums are sources of advice and help, do your part of being HELPFUL rather than a d-bag

also a difference between PC and common courtesy. the people who are outright d-bags on these forums i feel are either just fuckin retarded, or are too lazy to contribute to the wellness of the general forum. if you dont want to deal with being PC, fine - if you want to be a nonsensical, attention whore - stay in your RT cave :S

 

You just contradicted yourself. Forums are about help mostly. Yeah, we have conversation threads and whatnot but many parts of this forum (like the busted) section are meant for advice.

So if someone asks how to pass a lab drug test and the first poster says "drink 4 gallons of water a day", do you let it go? No, because drinking four gallons of water a day can be dangerous and it won't do much for cleaning out your system.

Stop the misinformation and spread the knowledge.

I'm not against helping morons. If you ask for help and I can give advice, I'll do my best. If someone else needs help and you tell them to do something that isn't going to help them and could harm them, then you need to be corrected.

 

Even if that means telling someone completely wrong information just for our entertainment :sifone:
