I honestly put how ever much I feel like at the time.
Sometimes, when I feel a bit saucy,
    I put a lot.
    Other times, not so much.

I'm really no help at all.

I think you just get a bottle, stick maybe 2/3cms of baking soda in the bottle and fill the rest with water, put a hole in the lid, shake and squeeze over your head :) Some people put essantial oils in the mixture, like teatree or rose or lavendar :) Only put one drop in though, it is very over powering ^^

Maybe I'm alone in this, but baking soda seems to leave gooey build up that is difficult to rinse out, so I follow up with vinegar. Good. Yes.

No, it does not. You are probably thinking of lemon juice ^^

really? I think BS is quite the opposite, not only leaves no residue but also takes out any soapy buildup. I like maybe half a cup of baking soda in a big pot of warm water with a couple lemons worth juice.

So don't wash your hair everyday, it's unnecessary to wash it that often anyways, unless you roll around in poopy or sumpin.

Sounds like too much baking soda.

I rarely measure for myself. Sometimes more, sometimes less but always an amount that dissolves!

I also wash in a bowl.

You will know if you have too much if the powder doesn't break down and dissolve much. Also, if you use too much, you will likely feel a bit itchy on your scalp. I think I do about a half cup of baking soda in a jug of water.

And yup, my hair is getting much lighter from washing with just baking powder. Kinda cool actually... wish I had started using it on my regular hair years ago.

Hey, umm okay I didn't see like an exact recipe or amount I should add in with anything, and I wanna try this because I haven't washed my hair with any kind of soap or anything for a good 2 & 1/2 weeks (Didn't wash prior to starting the dread process, I dunno why), besides a good scalp rubbing, along with massaging my locks individually with warm/hot water, and I want a clean feeling.

I can't find any shampoo around here, so I'm gonna order some DreadHeadHQ shampoo (I heard from alot of people it's really nice, and it's cheap) monday, but still.

I heard you can add like.. 1 tablespoon, or 1/2 cup of it.. but what exactly do I do with it? kinda rub it dry on my head? What? Thanks.

PS: Why do you guys hate on Soaring Eagle so much, he's nice lol

You add the baking soda with water. and then pour the it on to your dreads or dip your dreads into the mixture and let it soak up the stuff. Scrub your scalp with your fingers. That's the way I work it.

I just use an old jug that we used to use for juice. I have on clue what hte exact measurements are... Maybe four pints to 1/2 cup of baking soda. I really don't know, I just dump it in. You will feel it and if it is cutting the grease while you use it.

maybee i will try that one myself, i am one of the unfortunate people who have to wash evry 2 to 3 days, because of my job. i tried bonners , didnt like it so much, latley i just been using suave clarifying clear shampoo. wanna try something new, i feel i wash my hair so much it kinda seems damp all the time, but it could also be from the heat too, been like 90 to 95 everyday with 90% humidity, i work outside and i weld all day, so im a nasty mess by 730 am...so i need something that is mild since i do have to wash so much.
