thats one of my favorite movies ever! it would have been even better if they had what he was like when he was telling the story, like what happened 15 years later. any one else seen it?
Yeah, it was a good movie. My only gripe with it was that by the time the story ends and you get the message, you're so into the movie that you forget about the message. People see the movie and think it's all about hard core punks and fighting the system and all that crap, and it's really not.
Pretty good moive IMO. The end was kind of gay but oh well. I went to Salt Lake City once for a rugby game. It sucked for two reasons. One is the Mormons have everything on lock, and two was we lost the game 79 to 5. But most of their team was imported from Tonga, so oh well.
i saw that movie recently on hbo i was bored and there was nuthin on so i watched it. that movie was awesome as hell and the point is a very sublte but importnant one.
I saw this movie a while ago on accident. I was trying to download a movie before it came out on DVD (I forget which one) and it turned out to be SLC Punk. I watched it anyway and enjoyed it quite a bit. The end was the best part. It made a good point about those who feel they are rebelling when they are really just joining a different kind of group. I recommend it.
For curiosity sake, I would like to know what subtle point you took from the movie. What was your interpretation?
I guess everybody liked it. It annoyed the fuck outta me, I turned it off halfway through............
SLC Punk...i've always liked it since the first time i saw it. at the time there was this little cafe where anyone could go to hang out. well there were alot of punk rock kids there who hated the movie. mostly because of the end. they didn't want to buy into the system, even if its easier to take it down from the inside. depends on what you get out of the movie i suppose. i still enjoy it though!
i took the movies point as the guy spent all those yeas fighting the system but after losing so many friends it jsut wasnt worht it to try and change a system from the outside and that its better to crumble it from within. wierd but thats what i got from it.
I wouldn't say that. It is more of a coming of age type story. All his rebellion can only go so far, but eventually you have to lead the "normal" life. There are very few people who can actually succeed in life without succumbing to the "norm" (mostly rock stars). I love the end when he said something along the lines of "it turned out all along that I was just a poser." Rebellion is a part of youth, but sadly it is something that almost always passes, and many become the thing that they used to hate.
