We are ever expanding here in crackerville,,....

Thus with more critters, more outbuildings, more garden spots, more shelters to build,,we just cant keep moving forward without a helping hand now an then..

We have a open door policy,,however,,many who travel thru lack the desire to earn a stake for the road,,so be it,,tis there choice..

That doesnt solve our labor needs however..SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,,we are looking for anyone willin to hang an work a while..
Not Bustin ass,,cept on occassion,,but a minimum of 3 hours a day of chores..
In return you will recieve shelter and food and a road stipend(stipend depends on amount of work produced over an above food etc..)

We are located in ellijay georgia..

Anyone interested please reply..Hope to here from you soon...:sunglasse

    Hey man,
what all do you need done? I do a lot of landscaping and construction kinda stuff, and what all goes on out there at that place? Is it like a commune or a camping place? I'm from Rome, GA and before that, I was from Bainbridge, right down there in the swamp around Lake Seminole. Holler back at me sometime
    Peace

    in a nutshell,,,,,
we are a couple of folks that have a dream of having our property and ourselves as self sufficient as we can be while at the same time opening our doors and lives to others that need a place to stay and make a few bux or those who just need a getaway to what we feel is a special place.. in order to accomplish our dream it means raising animals , having gardens of different sorts, and having outbuildings and facilities for folks to come and stay in iff they dont want to tent camp ....
    that said,,,,
we are enclosing areas of land for critters (fence post digging and barb wire running)

we are building a log cabin and when that is complete we will move on to another sort of structure ( tipis, etc etc,) and the various facilities needed with these structures (outhouses, brick ovens, etc etc,,)

we have begun clearing different areas for tents and fire pits, but at the same time having 15 acres of wooded area,,, is always general brush cleanup and such..

we plan on expanding the pond size (coffer dam and lots of digging) and need to clean up the spring area,,,

we have gardening areas but would like to expand the areas for them and make new ones( again more digging n clearing of vegetation and preparing of ground).

and of course having critters,,, there is poop n lots of it ( more shoveling n diggin n hauling) and wanting more critters means building more huts n sheds n such to house them in,,,

of course there are always other things that need to be done although my brain cant think of them at this moment ,,,

now back to what we are here.... we r just folks , folks that have our own lil quirks n shit like anyone else ,,,, but folks with good hearts and souls,,,, folks that are able to think outside the box and enjoy and learn from others as well as them learnin from us.....

    Hey...
if any of those road stipend peeps feel the need to get to cali in exactly one month from today..send them my way. one way trip to san fran or humboldt co for 100$ in gas (ok..so the gas sucks but mann ...have you seen the prices and I'm driving a fucking uhaul...gas is gonna be astronomical).
Only thing is it's gotta be someone of legal age and capable of staying sober for an entire 72 hours...this aint a road trip...it's a ride out of hell to get to humboldt in a period of 2-3 days. I need someone to keep me awake and remind me where the pavement ends and the dirt starts from time to time.
Anyway..more info to come if ya get anyone fitting that description.

    pieces :)

Sounds good! You guys sound like my kinda people, and man... those are hard to come by these days. I'm actually well trained in gardening and landscaping, as well as general land management issues. Yall got a website or anything I can go to? I might be only 20, but about three hours of stuff like that is what I usually end up doing on an easy day when I'm working, but of course it's kinda difficult bein' off at college right now. I need somethin to do for the summer, and maybe even a lil' this winter. Gimme a holler back on lostblackdog@yahoo.com and let's keep in touch man...
    Peace,
    -Mac

Sounds good..My dad built 2 log homes while I was growing up. I helped with the second when when I was in 7th grade, course I didn't carry the heavy logs up onto the second floor like he did tho.
Anyways I would love to help you out. I know how to use a shovel, can care for small animals, and do any clean-up. I've been looking online for nursing assistant jobs in TN & FL area but GA sounds cool too.

I can garden, landscape, and whatever else you want me to do as long as i have somewhere to live and food to eat. Where exactly is Ellijay though? I also don't have a car i don't know if that is a problem or not...email me though at taitlebaitle@excite.com. Hope to hear from you!

Are ya asking for rent from people that stay there or ONLY the 3 hrs of daily work...what if someone worked 12 hour shifts somewhere for 4 days elsewhere?
I have been checking out the area and found a hospital & nursing home there that I might like to work at.

earthy people are always welcome here especially to help us out :)...
only thing is for four people we dont have the shelter they would need,, i dont know the make up of the four of you but housing would be an issue,,, we can toss up a 61/2 x 61/2 bunk type house ,, and we have an extra bedroom for a female and if the cabin ever gets done :) that would be more space as well,,,, so iffin we can figger it all out of course you are welcome to head down and help out :)

I don;t know if you still check this thread, but man I am hungry for change, and I crave the peace of being around open minded people. I bust my ass everyday for fuckin 5.15 an hour and I would gladly bust my ass for nothing more then food shelter and the happiness of being around good people.

Shit, man, if its nice enough y'all really don't even need to provide the shelter. i got no problems with tent life. I saw you're other thread in the outdoor forum and I saw that you guys are still at it so i guess i'll post there too.

My lease is up in April and no matter what I am leaving Texas ( I hate it here, I am from N.C.) so drop me a line or just write back in this thread. I would be more then happy to help y'all out. For too long I have grinned and beared this madness. No longer. The fact of the matter is that I can appreciate hard work, I even yearn for it sometimes, but hard work in this plastic society equals nothing but money. And I really have no desire for the vile green, but hard work rewarded with the feeling of accomplishment is, I believe, one of the things this crazy, crazy life is all about. I mean, naturally, man was meant to work in order to live. Yet I work in order to do what.....buy shit, a car, a house, a fucking swiffer sweeper for 12.95? It's not for me.

Sorry, man, once I started writing I just had to vent a little.

So ne ways like I said just write back.... I don't have a comp. (I am at my mother's house for Christmas) but since the end of my lease is coming up I'll be on as often as possible searching for the sliver of hope that is an alternative to this chaos.

Peace and Happiness be with you all.
