same here, although my mom sometimes goes to church she isn't that religious... and my dad is an atheist
That's how my mom is, too. She goes mostly on holidays.. but that's about it. My dad comes from a very religious family, but he doesn't go to church. My brother and I are pretty much both athiests.
Same. i think the thing that drives me to believe that is how everything works like a puzzle. it all fits, and i believe in evolution. but i don't think evolution "happens"
Sounds more like deism than agnosticism, to me. Deism is the believe in a god or spirit, but not in any man made religion. I classify myself as a de-facto atheist, in that since there is no evidence of a god, it probably doesn't exist. I think of god on the same level of unicorns or fairies, I can't say that that there is a 100% chance that these things don't exist, and it would be unscientific for me to do so. Rather, it's a 99.999999% chance, until some sort of evidence arises.
Interesting viewpoint, and it's exactly what I thought, until I took AP Bio and learned all about evolution
Christmas is bullshit anyways. It isnt about Jesus, its about consumerism. Jesus wasn't even born in December... Also, I consider myself a Panentheist, which believes that "God" is all of creation, and then some.
honestly, who gives a fuck about organized religion? there's been thousands of years of false beliefs that have deluded the mass population, have been a hindrance to societal and technological advancement in human history (oppression of ideas, intolerance to other religions, etc.) and have caused mass death across the globe. religions preach tolerance and peace and yet all of them have bickered and killed each other for so long that they will continue to do so; after all, religion is persuasive. they all are hypocritical and will resort to violence when threatened by other beliefs.
I don't think my mom cares if I am this or that, she has a lot of fears herself about consequences. Which is good, we don't lose those.
