Hey everyone. I found these forums just a month ago by searching google and im glad i stumbled across it, seems to be alot of really cool people around this place. Im from a small town under the cascades, a hour and half east of seattle. I just started my dreads and i chose to back comb and palm spin, but there are a few dreads that not coming along as well as the others. Mainly my side burns and a few that i cant get to tighten up at the base. Any suggestions or advice to help me down this path?

:p Never heard it called that before!

Well, I have some that are much tighter, and my 'side burn' area has some of my tightest!
But then again, those are the ones I play with most =]

    Welcome!

    I request pics!

By just started you mean... how long? The key to mad dreadiness is time. If you are really impatient with your roots, look up root rubbing on the forum search, just don't rub your dreads off (obviously a counterproductive move). I have similar issues with the hair around/above my ears, but I'm just lettin' those hairs figure themselves out. Hope this helps, good luck and be patient

Any how the back of my head has had a few dreads for while from neglect and i finally started doing a few dreads a day in the front and the sides and just finished up the back. ill try to put up a pic as soon as possible.

there is a debate as to whether palm rolling makes a significant difference. you may want to ask around.

yeah i read alot of stuff that said that same thing but alot of them said that they didnt do it enough to make a noticeable differance. ive also read that it could cause breakage. So im not sure what to do. I put a few hemp wraps on a few loose ones

i think they're a bit young for any maintenance, including wraps. it may hinder locking. but that's just my opinion.

I think wraps are fine. I put some in when I first did my dreads and when I took them out at about 6mos they had knotted up lovely underneath. don't bov with palmrolling though, I think it only benefits people with mature dreads who want to smooth them out ect. Your just plam rolling normal hair at the moment which ain't gonna do shit unless maybe you palm roll 5hours straight? then maybe, just maybe you might see some improvement.
