national quiting day

its an idea i had while responding to a diff post - and it needs to be soldifiyed.
not that it would ever happen - but i think its a cool concept.

what if everybody went into work and quit?

instead of a union striking - it would be a socail striking.

course, it would only be successful if 2/3 of people actually did it - which would never happen.

 

Society as we know it would change forever.

Then again, I'm going to go with the fact that you were stoned when you came up with this idea.

Successful or not, it'd be pretty interesting. But then, until life's necessity's are free, I doubt 2/3 of the population would ever do it.

 

nothing is ever free... but there would need to be a successful bartering system for this to be successful

 

I would be supprised if anyone whould do it. I just don't see a valid point to do it other than for the fun of it. You know what they say about Pipe Dreams, you are more likly to get hit by one then to see one come true.

the concept is to crash the machine, as oppossed to be a slave of it.
sure many of us have found our ways, bore tiny holes in the cogs to survive.

the news makes everything sound like the sky is falling - and there is alot of fear everywhere. just today a large plant in my city announced they were shutting their doors; 200 out of work in an instant.

i agree it is a pipe dream, and wouldn't fly. some times pipe dreams is all a person has to keep the sky blue.
what about a "national quiting day" - or go even smaller, hour - less? minute?
yes - that's sorta insane that i like it. at 10:45 standard time, the entire american working force just stops, and does nothing until 10:46.

 

you can't just quit for an hour..

 

take a shit for an hour.
shit for an hour while on the clock.

its not quiting, but its not working either.

i used to tell my old supervisor i quit all the time and would just go hang out in other parts of the building for a while...i was good at that job so they never cared and i wouldnt get behind on my work lol...i remember the one time like 15min after i got there and their was a lot of work i walked past the supervisor and told him i quit and he just yelled back that he didnt even say anything yet. we never did much at that job but mess around
