    1)
so i have been looking at different timelines here are other places, i have seen a lot of people talk about starting off with a dread perm, my question is what the hell is a dread perm?

    2)
i have seen a lot of neglect timelines and i just was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me what causes the on some people to lock up almost all the way to the head and others have 1-2 inches of regular hair?

i am going to let my hair do what it wants but i still would like to know

    1. a dreadperm is where they backcomb the hair then do a regular perm to it. supposedly this makes it knot faster. which might be true since damaged hair follicles seem to dread faster.

    2. wtf are you talking about? the last two or three inches of most of my tips aren't dreaded, but the roots all knotted up completely. when neglecting, whatever happens is pretty much normal.

ok i know that these might not be the best images but i did not feel like looking for the ones i seen on another site. If you look at where the hair grows out of the head, on some people it seems to dread closer to the head then others. i have seen some images of people with neglect dreads for over 4 years old and they still have like a 1-2 inches of normal hair and then there are others that seem that their dreads locked all the way to the head. my question was what caused this to be so different with everyone?

The reason for this (point 2) raven is that they are different people. Different people have different hair. Different hair types, different routines, different shampoos, different everything. People might rip their roots, or they might not.

It is totally individual to each person. Thats why dreads are so special, no set are the same.

Its just the way it works, everyone is Different.

om..ok, if your going neglect you first have to chill the f out and not look at it as some kind of science. the first rule or dreads (in my eyes) is to stop caring. Just let your hair be and embrace whatever it decides to do. You can't realli compare peoples dreads, everyones hair locks differently. simples!

    Besides, those are all men.

Call me sexist, but what dreadlock-craving man gets a perm?

This is an example of a dreadperm, he's not on here anymore because he was a bad boy. (But don't say the word!). Maybe this gives you an idea of how they look. Weird as hell imo.

if you read everything that i said b4

i am going to let my hair do what it wants but i still would like to know

if you have seen my timeline i have let my hair do its own thing. i said that i wanted to know what caused this since the few people that i have talked to are about the same length into the dread process and pretty much have the same routine as each other with washing and thats it. as for the dread perm, a few days ago was the first time i have heard of one and wanted to know what it was, i never said i was going to get one!

so what i am trying to say is dont tell me to chill the F out. i dont want to piss no one off but things like that gets under my skin. some people just need to read everything in a post b4 jumping to reply, i have seen a lot of that here and i think that i am just going to stay in my timeline forum and thats it. so see who ever over in that post from now on
