This is one of the best movies ive ever seen...not as funny as coneheads, but its a different kind of funny....its from the directors of eternal sunshine of the spotless mind (i think?) w/jim carey and kate winslett. But this one has Jack Black (whom i think this is his best movie ever) and Mos Def (Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy) who i surprisingly think is very clever in both movies... Its about a movie store owner who leaves town (danny glover)....and puts Mos Def in charge of the movie tape (vhs) store....as he is in charge, jerry (jack black) whom frequently visits the store, gets his brain accidentally magnetized and as he touches all the vhs tapes, he unknowingly erases them....so every tape in the store is now useless, and in order to keep the store going, they remake all the movies their (few and odd) customers want....its so goddam funny to see them remaking ghost busters...lol jack black is world class in this film, seriously...his best role yet... do yourself a favor and BUY this movie, your going to end up doing it anyways after you see it once.....
what?! this movie sucked, it had a few funny moments but overall it was pretty lame. I liked the concept of it but felt the execution of the idea was really weak.... I give it a 5.5 out of 10 only because I liked the cast.

I liked it, man. I think it's storyline has a nice combination of: comedy and sentiment. You don't catch very many films that have that combination of elements. I liked their take on ''Ghostbusters!'' ROFL!!!!!!!!
I agree with you there. It had it's moments but it could've been executed better. The "deepness" they tried to achieve with the storyline didn't mix well with the comedy. L_S
