i posted here a few days back while i was halfway into backcombing with my friends. it's been 2 days and im already amazed with how my hair has undone itself lol my buddies backcombed them pretty stiff. they're mad that i took out the rubberbands though because all their hard work is slipping out. it's still clumped together but im not sure how long that will last ether since its slipping out of the "insta-dread" knots as we speak. well i guess it's time for the neglect part lol

here's a couple pics.. they actually look better in the pics lol

A 'couple of pics' doesn't count if they are the same picture!!

    Anyway,

I can't remember your other post... did you put anything in them?

just hang in there man... they'll come apart some before they tighten up... just part of the process.

And watch out calling backcombed dreads neglect... some assholes in here might not like that.

the knots they create with backcombing never all stay in, backcombing gives the illusion of dreads to begin with, then they come undone a little or alot, but as they reknot over time around whats left of the initial backcombing it creates the dreads, no matter which method and/or maintainance you do, its still going to take a year+ so tell them not to get too stressed with you ditching the bands.

    qft.

I backcombed just to get sections in there, because ripping is a bitch.
Of course, there is still ripping that needs to be done...eventually...

Same here. Not sure its a good thing though.
My roots seems to be the only thing thats tightening up, and it was the only part where the bc'ed hair didn't stay together.

How old are your dreads 73N5H1?

Maybe the length has something to do with it.
Looking forward to see some new pics :p saw one of your pics when they were really young, so it will be fun to see what they look like now :p

Tons of my backcombing fell out. The entire underneath of my hair came out and I only have a couple inches of dread in lots of my hair. My hair was backcombed good and tight but is just really fine and straight and virgin. I have since T & R'd most of the undreaded parts over the course of the past couple months. I still have some sections of my head with completely straight hair... I guess it all depends on hair type.

I dunno, most of my backcombing stayed, then again there wasn't much to backcomb and it was fried to hell with bleach and dye. all the loose hair will get sucked up eventually.

Just let it grow, go camping....or swim and it' gets starched. It's really gay to make your hair not on purpose, it's just something that happens with long hair and being away....but man it's a bitch combing through long hair after a shower, when you forget to do that in the shower...and it's a real bitch to even think of a hair style of the future....tried to say of the future...but mistakes can be nice, just not to deal with.
