In real life is kind of weird and I kind of suck at it now. Haha. I wanted to share that today I had 4 people visit me. Two of them being my first love and his best friend who used to be in love with me. I found that really strange, but it was so wonderful because listening to them was just like high school when they'd come over to my house. :) So many great memories came back tonight and it was just so awesome. 16 was such a good age for me, even if I was an angsty teen.

I'm not very good at the whole social thing, either. Never have been.

I'm kind of a "Let's just talk on the computer" type of person. I can only look Daniel and maybe my parents in the eye when I talk to them and so it just makes socializing in person awkward. Eye contact is too intimate and it goes way too deep into my personal bubble. If that makes any sense...

I'm good at being social, I just choose not to do it. The majority of people are not worth my time. I'm not saying I am better than they are, I'm just yet to meet very many in real life that interest me more than music or books. They certainly exist, but they're rare.

I have been a LOT more social lately too- it is weird. We have started visiting friends houses more and going out with friends, summer with kids , I guess..
It is fun and great and no big deal, until I can't sleep the day after- worried about things that are already done and over with.

I'm on the same boat, and I'm pretty sure we've been over this before, but I think that you're simply not looking hard enough for interesting people... because they're surely out there. My friends are the most ridiculously unique people, but yet again... I'd probably be pretty lazy about meeting people if I was in your situation. Being in college makes it much easier.

I used to have a problem with eye contact when I was in my teens, but not anymore. Now social situations just make me sort of awkward and nervous to the point it's hard not to seem "strange" to people. It's only certain social situations that do this to me. I can interact normally with people, it can just be rather uncomfortable at times.

I prefer to go to social events with people that don't involve much conversing, since I find most people boring. I also appreciate the fact that I don't rely on others to make me happy, but I do enjoy the few close friendships I do I have. I'm very picky when it comes to choosing friends though.

To be 100% honest, Daniel is the only person I'd rather spend more time with than you guys. I'd much rather talk to the people on here than socialize most days. While it's easy to pretend to be someone you aren't online, at the same time, it's just as easy to be your true self. And here it feels like there are a lot of genuine people and it's just so nice in comparison to what I'm used to. This town is full of wannabes and fakes and liars, so it's really refreshing to have a place full of real people.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the opportunity to socialize and I'd probably go stir crazy if I didn't get out, and my friend who's visiting for the summer has done wonders for me and reminding me that it is entirely possible to enjoy life without being high. We've been having a crapton of fun and it's been a very good summer because of her. :D

My first love has some badass fucking dreads going on these days, though. They're 2 years old, I think. His dreadiversary is the same day as me and Dan's anniversary. :D

I can be social, but I've always been a bit of a loner. I prefer it that way.

It's a lot easier to live your life having to please no one but yourself.

You're probably right. I'm not, mostly because I don't have the energy.

When I traveled overseas I can't really remember many days where I didn't have a dashing and interesting acquaintance.

My friend who is in town for the summer is one of the only people in the whole world that truly gets and appreciates my sense of humor as much as my mom. It's really nice to have someone laughing the whole time we're together again. Especially since I'm the cause of the laughs.

Really don't much care for small talk. I'm very in touch with my own motives and agendas. I try not to ever lie to myself... & I've seen a lot of crazy shit in my day.
As a result, I often find it difficult to relate to others.
Having moved around a bit doesn't help at all.
My personality is kind of abrasive and strong. Too blunt, & way too honest.
People at work still haven't warmed up to me, & it's been over a year now.
I can certainly relate to this thread.
Good to know you're not alone, at least. ;)
I tend to make friends with other weird, fringe of society types.

Ugh, I hate smelling other people. That's even more intimate than eye contact.
