yup, i had a panic attack one time and was sent to a psychiatrist... this guy gave me a questionaire (sponsored by a pharaceutical co. of course) which consisted of a full FIVE questions (totally retarded, such as "do you ever get nervous?"-type questions, which, duh, everyone does..) and apparently i qualified for two years' prescriptions to xanax. absolutely ridiculous. but i wasn't complaining about the rX :)

one of the other posters mentioned the adverts on tv over prescription drugs among other products and i just discovered over the weekend that the flicker rate of a television puts your mind into a semi-trance-like, suggestive state. so you'll buy more of everything you see.

one more good reason to turn that thing off.

Television is so sedative now days, but I know so many people really enjoy watching TV and follow some shows religiously, not missing a single episode. Television is like a drug in itself, which also happens to promote more sedative drugs. Overall television, prescription drugs and the government want you to be sedated and forget about the problems in todays society. I haven't owned a TV for over 2 years and couldn't be happier with my decision.

I hope someday to live in a TV free country, but the current trend here in the United States seems to be more TV. I see them everywhere now, in stores, bars, restaurants, you can't escape them. I will probably have to move to some remote part of Alaska, but that would be fine with me. I love Alaska

i think it is the dumbest thing that the US could do right now...its stupid as fuck...self diagnosis started with web md now people who might not by hypochondriacs might become them. it's fucking DISGUSTING. it's the pharmeceutical companies trying to make bank. it frustrated me when i went to a psychologist and she tried to prescribe several drugs through out my time there...fucked up...there's alterior motives even when it comes to help from trained professionals and/or doctors.

it's absolute bullshit. yeah try and make people feel depressed so they can take your meds bullshit
