poll: inspiration thread modification

ok, so I was thinking about going through the entire inspiration thread and deleting any post that doesn't have pictures of dreads in it.

This is a big task but I think it could make for an awesome uninterrupted photo compilation.

Some might object to this though so I am making a poll and asking for your input, specify why or why not :cheers2:

Yes its a good idea,I just feel sorry for you having to search through the whole thread!

 

yeah as much as I hate deleting posts I think so much of the cross-chatter there is old and irrelevant... not to mention we're really supposed to delete threads that get over 1000 posts, so this thread is already an exception of sorts..

and chemi it's not really that hard to do just will take a bit but I'll be looking at the amazing pics that once inspired me to dread so... hrm yeah

 

will this mean we can't express our thoughts/impressions on the pics there anymore?

 

I dunno, there are a number of options. I could delete all the OLD posts and leave the newer ones to make it easier to get through the first 3083028 pages

or we could close that thread (since we really should anyway), sticky it, and start a new inspiration thread for conversation and more pictures.

 

noo don't close it down, let it be. well at least that's my opinion.
i think deleting the old posts is reasonable, but people will still be replying there with no pics to add anyway.. maybe the thread needs a maintenance once a while or something

 

those are my thoughts. I don't really want to close it but it is really so bulky and old.

 

I dunno it's a tough call, it always bugged me though when I want to look at photos of nice dreads I have to trawl through loads of posts and no pics. Then again I do understand people want to comment on certain pics, so I guess I don't know really.

 

I was thinking the same thing a while back when I was trying to look at all of the pics... it was a pain to search through each page and so many pages were nothing but chatter.

My opinion is to delete all of the posts without pics to make it easy to look at what the thread is supposed to be about. Maybe occassionally go through it and delete new comments say every week or month or so.

 

thinking right now I'm just gonna do the anything not from the past year. that seems fair.

but it also seems a bit wrong..

dunno. technically I can justify it saying the comments are off topic since they're not dready pics

 

Maybe you should do the same to the sexy thread

 

I don't think we should close the thread. Maybe just delete some posts so there is at least 2/3 photos on each page?

Urrhmm deleting old non picture posts sounds good, but it does feel wrong xD Buutt there were a loooad of on-picture posts. So yea, I'd go with deleting old non picture posts

 

i vote we do this for the older posts in both inspiration and sexy thread

 

I think deleting the post w/o pix is a good idea. After you do it once any comments made will be easier to delete right away rather than letting them build up. It would be nice to have a picture only thread to browse through.

 

That is what makes the most since to me. I'd say make it all pictures, close/sticky it, and start fresh.

 

would it not also be an option to re-hotlink all the pics to a new thread and sticky that

 

dude, I do have a real life believe it or not

anyway, I basically did it, up until the first post in Jan '09.
