Here is another I saw last week, and again, I expected more from it because of all the hype. Frank Langella plays an excellent Nixon, but this movie was pretty boring up until the actual interviews, and even then there was only one part that really grabbed you. Dont want to be a spoiler, so I will just say that I give this movie a 6 of 10, and that is probably generous, but I include the historical significance here.
Haven't seen it, but will probably pick up the DVD. I heard Michael Sheen gives an incredible performance, and I'm a big fan of Sheen.
I know that movie was directed by Ron Howard who is very overrated as a director.I've never seen anything he directed or produced that I liked. He was a good child and young adult actor though.I certainly will not see this film,of course in general they just do not make good movies anymore and have not for a long time.I stick to the good stuff, back when they knew how to make great movies, the films made during the 1930s-early 1980s.I don't know why people even bother going to the cinema nowadays.
What are you talking about, man? There's plenty reason for going to the cinema...there are great films being made all year long every year. Just because movies have adopted a new style from when you were young doesn't mean there's no reason to go to the cinema.
It's not an age thing. Many of my favorite movies were made before I was born. The older films had REAL talents in all areas: actors, camerawork, directing, producing, fantastic writing etc. etc. etc.And technicolor invented in the 1930s is far better than anything they film with now.----I know this is my opinion, but there really is no comparison.
So, based on your logic of thinking, movies from way back then are the only good movies around and any movie made now adays isn't worth checking out? Yep, I think I'm going to just go ahead and dismiss anything else you say towards movies.
