I loooove playing acoustic, although mine has to have a thinner neck because i can't get my hand around the regular ones' neck. But, i also like the way electric sounds.
I have a complete encyclopedia of chords, chord charts, alternate chords, tunings and alternate tunings on my iPhone. It will also automatically set the tuner to any alternate tuning that I want to play in. Something I do a lot. Pretty cool, huh? Steve Vai and Ry Cooder We've all seen this. Some didn't know that it was Ry doing the kids guitar work. If you didn't, watch it again in that light. I think that this is the best, most real, rawest, perfectly choreographed music scene in the history of the moving pictures. :cheers2: Can't figure out how to embed it here, so....Enjoy--> Click
I love them both, but will always love acoustic more....just that natural vibes I get from any acoustic based music is amazing. I started playing with acoustic instruments before I ever got in to electric though....as far as guitars are concerned, I much prefer acoustic.
A month ago I would have said electric, but lately I've been getting into some avant folk/psychedelic folk, and I can't believe how beautiful acoustic instruments can be. So I'm going 2 acoustic/ 1 electric.
I like the portability of the acoustic, and the sound is nice, but I play more rock, and it's easier for me to solo on my electric. 2 electric, 1 acoustic for me.
I've only ever owned an acoustic... I've tried playing electric but it was too sensitive and I just couldn't get into it. I now have an acoustic with built-in pickups that suits me alright... I'm recording an album with it!
Im two part acoutic 1 electric. Acoustic is more pure and makes your play purer, because you cant hide the sound through distortion. Electric is really fun to jam though, play some reggae just let those chords ring.
I finally found the music section of this place....Ive been playing on an electric, it awesome, just starting to adjust, iam still useless though.....Id much rather fingerpick an acoustic though, theres just something calming about it....The distortion of the electric guitars are great as well...Iam still learning though :cheers2: And iam not sure Lol
I prefer playing the old acoustic, it's the core instrument for me in the song writing process. Electric is only fun in a band situation. So yeah, my vote is for sole acoustic guitar.
i looooooooooove my accoustic because its portable and its strings are nice and soft and also an electric is too loud for me accoustic i can play allmost everytime exept at night. so 2 hands and 2 feet for accoustic
To me jamming on the electric is one of the top 5 best sensations i've experienced in life, but the portability and the fact an acoustic can be played pretty much anywhere is very nice. I don't like playing electric much if the volume can't be turned up and playing through headphones is ok but i dunno i rather just turn it up to 11. 2 parts electric, 1 parts acoustic for me.
