hey..come here to alberta..may be hics, but we are a debt free province. If you enjoy the beauty of mountains and greenness and miler weather, my vote for you is the lower mainland of B (chilliwack-abbotsford for example)..gorgeous..but be prepared for the price of living!

I think Vancouver is an area worth considering. It seems to be the most laid back part of our entire country, and the marijuana policies are prety relaxed there. The cost of living, I couldn't say. Certainly worth visiting atleast, just to see. My mom's good friend, a pretty cool lady, lives in Vancouver - moved there from Ontario. She loves it.

Also Toronto is a very cool place. Our marijuana policies are pretty relaxed here too, as long as you're not dealing. Plus we have the hotbox cafe. The cost of living is pretty high in Toronto though, or atleast the cost of housing. Also worth visiting atleast to check out.

Those are both very urban areas. If you're not into that then the above poster's suggestion is probably better for you.

Somehitng else to remeber about Alberta though...we've got King Ralph in power right now, and it looks like he'll be in for four more years...I can't really suggest anywhere to live except that Albertas energy costs are de-regulated so they are quite high...but we do have lots of empty space...

I have also been thinking about moving to Canada. Next year, after I graduate high school, me and a couple friends are going to go to Vancouver and live there. We probably won't have much money, and we probably won't be able to get jobs because we won't be properly immigrated. I don't know how we're going to live there, but I am determined!

Are there any other places to move other than Vacouver? I want somewhere with relaxed marijuana laws. I want to grow for personal use, but I'm probably going to grow a good amount indoors. I just hope I can find a place to do it without much risk.

Anybody have any tips for a wannabee-Canadian? :)

Canada is a wonderful country and i can't blame you for wanting to be here, especially BC, relaxed and chill to the max. I don't want to rain on your parade but there are facts. Be prepared to not be able to work as you will not have a SIN #. I can tell you from experience that this is very hard. And becoming a Permanent Resident to ensure your right to work in Canada is quite difficult and expensive. I've been through it all. I am an American citizen and became a Canadian Permanent Resident. It took loads of fees, paperwork, and i eventually did it the only way i could, by getting married to a Canadian. Everyone thinks its so easy because America and Canada are so close geographically but it is like immigration between any two other countries in the world. There are very strict regulations for visas of all sorts. The best advice if you are planning on moving to Vancouver after high school? Work your ass off, save your ass off, bring the cash, and hope to find some under the table work that every illegal immigrant and his brother are after in Vancouver.

if you love fishing, northern Sakatchewan is the place to be.
