Well, I guess there are varying degrees of anonymous.

1) Meeting someone at a club or other event...completely random and anonymous and hooking up. In my experience, this can be very hot but it doesn't really happen that often.

2) Meeting someone on-line (computer or phone)...getting to know them a little, maybe swap pics, talk on the phone, etc...THEN meet up. This is much more common I suspect, at least for me...and can still be very hot and it somewhat anonymous because you can still go your own seprate ways and never see each other again if you choose.

I probably had 3-5 instances of #1 in my younger days, and many more of #2 especially after the internet exploded. Meet somebody, swap a few pics (you have to have some visual beforehand I think), talk on the phone a few times to ensure as best you can that everything is cool, then plan a safe meet-up and see if the sparks fly. I guess I'm a little lucky in that I'm a decent looking dude and have good...um...equipment. I'd say 90% of the time I finally met up with somone I'd met "anonymously" on-line it was ON within the first 30 minutes of meeting...and quite often carried on for a day or after...
