What is the best thing about hippiedom?

The best thing about being a hippie besides the drugs and clothes and music ...I must confess is wanting liberty for everyone and accepting everyonhe as they are... yeah I know it's cliche (sp)

 

That fact that I am deeper thinking about issues. Not just believing what I am fed/told to believe. I like to find out the other side of the story or how it really works before I make up ,my mind.

Well Jimmy you give me an eyeroll and make a sarcastic statement but I'm speaking from the heart and I'm not trying to fit into a hippie sterotype but I can't help what I like man

 

I think the best thing about being hippie is living life on your own terms as much as possible and not being so afraid of what other people think of you if you don't measure up to their middle class standards.

 

The Freedom of thinking for yourself, not having blinders on as to what's going on in the universe around you, living life on your own terms and having a loving spirit.

 

Being free and educating myself.

 

There are so many things I love from hippiedom =)
For example, the fact of having my own ways, choose what I decide is the best for me and others, to learn how to live along with others in harmony, living with eyes wide open...is great!

i like knowing that i dont have to worry about what others think of me. plus people tell me im unique and that makes me happy to know im my own person and they like me for me. i have actually had people tell me that they wish they could be that way but they are too worried about being seen as something other than what they think is socially acceptable. to think i actually might have helped some people realize their own self, makes me feel good as well

 

Now, that I think of it, I feel kinda mentally free. This is the best thing I can think of.

Also. As a "hippie" I am naturally really weird, so alot of people reject me without ever even having a conversation with me. But people who don't reject me are really really wonderful and friendly people.

 

honestly... its the music, the ideas, being environmentaly friendly, being kind to animals... its EVERYTHING. I could never give any of it up.

 

I think the way 'we' perceive things is a good thing about being "hippie". We find the meaning in things, we find reasons, and we stick to those reasons because they are sound - we find out for ourselves, we don't get told. Sometimes I really think we are a different breed of people, per say. We find joy in the little things - music, art, life, nature, and community. We find success not in business, money, possession or material possessions - but we measure our life's success in experience, wisdom, happiness and memories.

This is at least what I think. If there is a God, I think his original vision for humans was a dirty, long haired hippie.

 

hell yeah. adam and eve were just two nudists in a beautiful garden with long hair (unless god said "let there be scissors" and i missed that part in the bible) and roaming with the animals. sounds awesome to me

 

The freedom. I still get yelled at when I say I'm into the smoke or free love but I'm free to not give a damn when it happens.

 

being myself 'n lovin everyone and everything, even if they hate me back. I'm just happy to fly my freak flag high.

 

enjoying the simple things in life and being able to see and feel what others dont

and hell yea. i would hope that heaven would be filled with nice dirty long haired souls enjoying eachothers company
