I can't say the rain is bothering me too much. Obviously it isn't great that we're getting so much of it when we should technically be having sunshine! But it's been nice I think. It hasn't been a dreary drizzle, it's been full on lashing down :) And I really dig that. Plus I've been spending more time working than hanging out at parks or beaches.

And as my memory serves August has always been rather sweltering so I have faith that there's still some sun to come :)

Lucky you. It's just cold and grey and wet like November here, and it's probably going to stay like this for the rest of the winter.

    Welcome to Grey BritIan.

Well it's the same here, seems to rain every day, and the avarage temp has been 69 degrees in July, dunno how that translates into celsius..

    Peace

Is this anything to do with the destruction of the rainforests?

I heard that the rainforests regulate global rain patterns, and this el nino fucker has been rearing it's head a lot in the Pacific in recent years.

It really makes me angry to think that we might be suffering bad summers now because of these bastards who want to make a fast buck.

Yeah they said it was going to brighten up a bit over the weekend, but it's not going to last.

I don't think it's the rain that's upset people, more the Met Office's earlier use of the words 'barbecue summer'.

    No, it's the rain.

Everyone expects the met to get it wrong.

They can't be expected to get it right all the time, certainly not for long term forecast.

It's definitely the rain, yep, definitely. Yep.

you lucky brit and irish bastards!
here in san antonio, texas, u.s.a. we are in the longest and worst drought and, 100+ degree heat wave since 1877!
    floods suck too!
i would like to have just enough rain and have the temp drop about 35 degrees... i wish i was still living in seattle!
    of course, earthquakes suck also!
there is always something that sucks wherever you live.
