Makes all the since in the world... Wat you are feeling is energy released from chakras, chakras in scientific terms are nerve bundles located along your spine, in your pineal gland and at tha top of your head... I suggest you go to the link below, its a less active forum but im there almost everyday as lildiezel 513. ANy info you need will easily be attained here as i can see you are very early in your spiritual and mental development. I also must say you should find somone who does classes in your area before you go too deep... it can be dangerous.
    Much love 1

    I know I sound like a parrot if you've been reading other threads, but;

Try a google search for grounding exercises. You may be directed to a lot of visualizations. Other grounding exercises include Hatha Yoga stretching and poses, self massage and anything else which generates feeling in the body. Incorporate the grounding principle into your practice and it will be easier to get used to the things that you're experiencing. It will also keep your practice safer.

One tradition that seems to have the safety aspect of meditation down to a science is Qigong. Try a Youtube search for "ken cohen qigong". He has a few good exercises for grounding energy into your navel area where it is more safely stored. Meditationexpert.com also has a couple good articles on this topic.

I also wrote extensively on this throughout the internet, but I don't want to be that guy who plugs himself in every post.

    Cheers. You'll be fine.

    Cheers.

As you said, when you focus on it, it stops... so don't focus : )
Keep an open mind, let come and go what does, don't expect, hope for or try to avoid anything, just let things be. As time goes by you'll naturally progress. If your mind is taking you away from something, then let it be, don't force anything, when your foundation is strong you'll just slip into it without a second thought.

It's also very good to have a mentor or guide, somebody you've a good relationship who you can speak to in person, a map is good, but somebody who knows the city like the back of there hand and can take you right to all the best places is much better, happy hunting

The above answers are ok, but they won't help you any because they're from learned knowledge, and not experiential knowledge. People should refrain from talking about what they don't know about intimately

1st) Your experience is normal and to be expected. It makes perfect sense.

2nd) You're losing concentration on your focal point (mantra, breath, or whatever) when you become aware of your eyes start de-focusing then you become re-aware of your sense of individuality. At this point in your practice you will to start developing your discrimination between the ideas of "I" and "not I." In otherwords you will start to realize that the ideas between "me" and "not me" are arbitrary thoughts with no basis for reality.

There are several ways to get around this. BE CREATIVE!!! Explore your mind- you are the only one that made the knot- you are the only one that can unravel it! That said:

    A) Go back to whatever your focal point is with complete resolve to only have that thought. Completely abandon the thought of "I." For this you need to have a very well developed discrimination and willpower. If you can cultivate the fearless resolve to abandon the sense of yourself and only have your mantra as a thought, this is the quickest method, though not for everyone. Its simultaneously the hardest and easiest- something akin to jumping off a cliff.

    B) Once the thought occurs, "My eyes are rollling back. Why is this happening? This is uncomfortable," focus one who this "I," "My," is. Again, this takes willpower and resolve, but because you are still using the discriminating faculty of the mind, it is somewhat more gentle of an approach. Keep on focusing on the sense of I, then Not I back and forth until it becomes clearer and clearer.

    C) Focus on the expanded feeling that began to arise. For this you'll need to focus on the boundaries between "I" and "not I." Focus on your thought, then who is thinking the thought, then an outside stimulous, then have your thought outside that stimulous. Through the willpower of observing your thought outside what you've previously considered beyond "you," your mind will observe that there is no boundry between you and not you.

In Closing- maybe none of these methods will work; you need to be creative and solve your own problems. But hopefully they'll spark some delving.

You must travel to Watagoo, Siam, to meet with the renowned guru master chief, Baba Booey. He will tell you the things you wish to hear.

what you feel is called chakra
Chakra is to be "force centers" or whorls of energy permeating, from a point on the physical body, the layers of the subtle bodies in an ever-increasing fan-shaped formation.
