didnt see this posted anywhere else. just heard it on the news. what do you think will happen now?

 

They still haven't said what "mysterious blood ailment" he was suffering from.

No... his doctors specifically said he was not poisoned, nor suffering from cancer.

 

i still dont buy that.

 

My Global Issues teacher mentioned how they haven't said what it was making him so ill. But he did say that a few years ago or so, when he met Netanyahu and they had a chance to talk about the Israel/Palestine issue for a while, Netanyahu mentioned a rumor that Arafat had an all male harem. Sounds suspiciously like childish BS to me..y'know, "dude, you're gay man!", but who knows. Anyway, apparently theres a lot of speculation that he had aids. But if any of that is true....they'd never ever let that out.

Of all the media and Newspapers, who would you trust to get the infomation for his death?

 

I certainly wouldn't trust somewhere that touts itself as "your source for Israel-centered news"... Israeli BIASED news... Ugh. And I'm a jew and a zionist.

 

It's all over the independent media, not just Jewish-based sites.

 

Certainly not CNN or the Associated Press.

 

My questions are
a)Why is this only being brought up now if people have "apparently" know for a long long time?

b)Why is this being used to "discredit" Arafat? Admittedly in the Muslim world, homosexuality is on par with being a murderer but why should WE care? Why should it matter if he's a homosexual and is or is not dying of AIDS? I don't really care what he died of (I AM interested however. But it won't impact my life), I'm just glad he's dead and hope Israel and the Palestinians can start something new.

I don't know if it's being used to discredit him, and frankly, I don't give a shit. I couldn't care less if he was gay, or if he fucked goats for that matter. But, this thread is about his death, and there has been no disclosure of what his "mysterious illness" was. Based on the facts, you have to wonder exactly what he died from.

There are many things much greater than Arafat's sexuality that "discredit" him.

I wasn't talking to you, Matt. After you said it was all over the independent media, I did a search on "Arafat homosexual" on google and a lot of the sites that came up talked about using it to discredit him and how it was better to do that then to kill him. Instead of talking about his history as a terrorist in the PLO, they bring up his sexuality. Thats what annoys me.

That is really shitty. I'm like rat, I honestly don't care if he was gay or not. but yeah, I'm interested to know what the illness was...not obsessively though.

It's crazy how they apparently think that him being a homosexual is somehow more discrediting than him having been a terrorist....?? I don't understand this world sometimes.

Anyway...may he rest in peace. Evil or not, he's getting whatever he deserves now.
