Ok so You know not that i really care or anything But since i Had dreads which was Around 8 Months ago Ive noticed that they don't really lock up at the roots.

I mean some have 3 inches of Lose hair at the roots I'd just like to know whats the causes of this is. MY hair is Thick.

I was thinking Maybe my hair isn't Dry enough It does seem to get greasy quick so i wash more then once a week now. But I honestly don't know if that's the problem.

Dr.Bronners is Failing me i think. Any one else Have a problem like that Who have had dreads 8 Months or Older?

    Pce...

I had the same problem with my roots no knotting up man
Try rubbing the root against your scalp in a circular motion
Or just leave it and see where it ends up
Also, it doesnt matter how often you wash, i wash twice a week sometimes more
My dreads are about 11 months old now and theyre just starting to really get knotty and look more like how i expected em too. Instead of Dr Bronners, try sea salt water, thatl dry your hair out heaps.

Also, my hair is REALLY thick too, so that aint the problem i dont think :)

you dont have to do anything, its usually much worse to have roots tighten up.... and painful

Could be the shampoo. I was using a different shampoo to my usual (which ironically was bronners) and that was making my hair hella greasy and I had to wash 3 times a week. I've changed back to Bronners now, and I don't get greasy hair. Try changing to a clarifying shampoo or train your scalp to get used to less washing

How long are your dreads? I have noticed the shorter the hair the less they lock as they grow, simply because they can't move all that much. Until then just rub the root in a circular motion. Worked for me.

rubbing the roots in a circular motion is the best thing you can do if they're not dreading well. you don't even have to get your fingers in between the dreads to do it... just take a piece of wool (if you have a wool beanie, that'll work) and rub your scalp in a circular motion with it, you'd be surprised how much it'll get that hair knotted...

I used a crochet on my hair once and it just seemed to be a little too much. It was damaging my hair alot, which I really didn't like because I took such good care of my hair before the dreading process. But some people like it, so idk.

Lol Crocheting I will never do. My dreads are hafe Natural hafe backcombed I never got to finish the back of my head.

But i mean there dreading up fine. Just the roots stay loose thats all. Some one always told me just give it time roots will lock up on there own. Not really working and i was always to lazy to rub the roots. But idk. I might fool around with them a bit.
