I prepare (fill) medications, mix IV's, do inventory, log data into the computer, distribute drugs to the proper location in the hospital, etc. All that fun stuff. I do most of the work people think pharmacists do themselves. All the pharmacist does is check the prescriptions before they go out.
Nice. I know a guy who does what you do... and he is the person who illegally used to sell me pharmaceuticals as well :cheers2: I couldn't work in a hopsital though. Too much negative energy and sick people. I'd end up very depressed.
Yeah, I don't exactly like it myself, but it's a job nonetheless. It's actually kind of ironic I am even in this line of work, being as critical and outspoken as I am about big pharma. Some people say it makes me a hypocrite.
What do you mean you're big about pharma? Like.. as in it's your line of work, or as in you think it's important/necessary? As much as I always hated the idea of personally going on pharmaceuticals, I know a couple of people who really benefit from them (like my dad) and I am very ambivalent to it all. Some people I think can benefit from medication and live a fulfilling life; while other people can be completely destoryed by doing so. You know what I mean?
No, I said I am critical of big pharma. Big pharma often refers to the corrupt nature of the big phamceutical companies which benefit off keeping people sick while dispensing drugs that are often more dangerous than the disease/ailment its supposed to treat. The aim of the pharmaceutical companies is to get as many people taking their drugs as they can, whether they need to be on them or not. For instance, just look at how anti-depressants are overprescribed in this country. So many people are taking them that traces of these drugs are turning up in municipal water supplies. It's a very corrupt business.
in a tattoo parlor in Tulsa, right after my fiance's funeral and right before I got the first tat. I had a whole entourage with me, haha, another girl got a tattoo as well.
oh, haha, silly me on the CU boulder campus. on farrand field. an old friend was in town and we day tripped to boulder to hang out, cause he considered going there. awesome day
Ohhhhhhhh, okay. I know what you mean... which is why I said I'm ambivalent to it all. Like some people (maybe 3% of the population) can actually benefit from taking medication. While the fact of the matter is that 30% or more of the population takes medication. It's kind of like 'have a problem? this will fix you!' ... when most people just need to take some time to reflect and fix themselves. I'd never go on medication. Not just because I don't think I'm insane, just because I don't think dependency on a pharmaceutical will ever benefit me... I'm better off trying to help myself. Maybe I'm babbling, whatever. You know what I mean though, it's always people trying to make $$.
