Anyone familiar with the metal subgenre? Favorite bands? I'm very into traditional doom metal, as well as sludge and stoner metal. Some favorite bands: Pagan Altar, Iron Man, St Vitus, Pentagram, Trouble, Cirith Ungol, Revelation, Solitude Aeturnus, The Gates of Slumber, Cathedral, Pale Divine, Witchfinder General, Orodruin, Ogre, Reverend Bizarre, Candlemass, Electric Wizard, Eyehategod, Grief, Noothgrush, etc.
The best genre of metal. Saint Vitus, Witchfinder General, Electric Wizard, Black Sabbath, Sleep, they are all gods.
I'm more into funeral doom than I am traditional and stoner doom. I really love Ahab, Mournful Congregation, Evoken, Forest of Shadows, and dISEMBOWELMENT.
Mournful Congregation is a great band. Fading Light of a Dying Sun got me through many dark nights. Ever looked into Worship or The Funeral Orchestra? Worship is just extremely depressing, the frontman killed himself so you know it was genuine too. The Funeral Orchestra is a little different, they're definitely my favorite funeral doom band. Feeding the Abyss is a very dark, hypnotizing album.
Hell yea, I like Orange Goblin, Electric Wizard, Burning Witch, Candlemass, Funeral and a bunch of other stoner/doon metal bands i cant think of.
I really adore Doom metal... although I never really got into the traditional doom scene -sleep, cathederal and the rest. my favourites are: Arcana Coelestia Burning Witch Comatose Vigil (highly recomended) Quasar Monarch 1000 funerals
