I love them. Do you use them? I just got some rare verbena essential oil.. it smells soooooo good, I put some drops on my pillow, just like 3.. and it smells so strongly and heavenly. I plan to put drops in the bath too, and burn some in the oil burner.. it has anti-stress and anti-depression properties. Also helps with sleep. Isn't it amazing how just smelling something can cure? I only wish they weren't so expensive. I should learn to make it.
i love essential oils. i use them in my bath water and also in herbal pillows that i make. i recently made some kick ass bubble bath will essential rose oil and it came out great. i also always keep lavender oil around home because its the only thing that will break my moms fever
I've been using essential oils for a few years. I love them. Especially, patchouli, eucalyptus and lavender.
penny its simple to infuse herbs into oil. start your own herb garden and infuse them yourself. fair warning its addictive. dilli has 80 different herbs growing here now between the ones for cooking, tinctures and oils.. and that doesnt count the wild ones she uses..lol
Is it very easy to grow herbs indoors? I think I will try this. I find gardening therapeutic, and I would love to be able to use what I grow. Plus, I love plants indoors.
I adore Burgamont oil! Makes EVERYTHING smell like earl grey- and since getting London Fogs (earl grey, vanilla, streamed milk) is my solution to times of being over worked or sad it a good smell to surrond myself in.
there are a few really good co-ops that have super essential oils, if you dont want to set up a still. They can be pricey depending on what you want, but its better than flat out retail shops most times. I dont know where I would be without essential oils, I use them for alot of things. Got some really high quality sandalwood oil years ago and spent the cash for a large bottle, its worth its weight in gold! There is also a portion of the fridge dedicated to the best of the best rose and flower oils. A huge vat of ambergris and a ton of smaller bottles, i cant count how many oils we have and use. Been using them for ages and show no sign of stopping! :hat:
I love lavender essential oil, and lilac. Vanilla is also really nice. What I love most about essential oils is that they're more mild. See, I get headaches a lot from fragrances, and I can't really wear any perfumes or strong scents because I end up super sick with migranes. But the oils don't bother me.
it's not so much that essential oils are mild (pure essential oils can burn the skin and even melt plastic, such as patchouli and cinnamon) - they don't cause headaches because they're the real deal - it's those synthetic blends that give incenses and oils such a bad rep.... if the oil doesn't burn true on a charcoal, then it's a synthetic
