I've heard theories that dark matter / Dark energy are a nod towards parallel universes. But I really don't think they exist. There's no reason to assume they do.
The vast majority of physicists today believe there are an infinite number of parallel universes, playing out every possibly configuration of the universe. The evidence comes from phenomena at the quantum level. However, I don't think it's even theoretically possible to travel between them.
It could just be an excuse for why things are so finely tuned. "There are just so many universes...one of them had to be suitable for us." Scientists don't seem to tend to side on the preeminence of mind over "matter". Probably because it's not something you can adequately describe/explain away.
Parallel means that they don't touch. Therefore, no signals can pass between them. Therefore, no data can pass between them. The possibility of a parallel universes can be shown, but the existence cannot.
so if two different parallel universes don't touch, what if we can crawl out of one and "walk" over to the other? What would that middle blank space be like? nothingness? would we even exist??? Antimatter? oooh!!!
no, because a universe would be a reality. This is the space between realities. So either an antiverse, or nothing. I think we wouldn't exist in the space between because to exist you'd have to be in a reality, and this space between isn't one.
not neccesarily. there must be a way. could we "create" a reality, perhaps a temporary one, to use as a vehicle to move from one universe to the other?
there are myriad parallel dimensions <---------Proper there are a myriad of parallel dimensions <----Improper -
mirriam-webster's usage of "myriad": "usage: Recent criticism of the use of myriad as a noun, both in the plural form myriads and in the phrase a myriad of, seems to reflect a mistaken belief that the word was originally and is still properly only an adjective. As the entries here show, however, the noun is in fact the older form, dating to the 16th century. The noun myriad has appeared in the works of such writers as Milton (plural myriads) and Thoreau (a myriad of), and it continues to occur frequently in reputable English. There is no reason to avoid it." really, though - how does this contribute to the discussion at hand? this isn't a grammar thread.......or perhaps you're showing us a parallel dimension comprised entirely of petty criticisms
Wow thats a great news regarding parallel universe.I was confused whether it is real or virtual it is virtual but after reading the book on Parallel Universe my all misconceptions got cleared.
I think there are, and I think that at every moment, we are all jumping between them. There have been times when I've consciously decided to jump to a particular universe, even if it seemed impossible for me to get to where I wanted to go. For example, when I was in Basic Training for the Army, I needed to run 2 miles in less than a certain time (I forget right now...prob 16 mins or so). But I was injured. If I told them I was injured, I'd get taken out of training and have to do it all over again as soon as I was healed. If I didn't tell them and didn't run fast enough, I'd get either re-trained or booted out. So, I decided to not tell anyone and run fast enough. I couldn't do it for the two weeks prior to that day, but I did it on that day. I had just decided that no matter what universe I was in while I was on that track, I was going to end up in the universe where I had passed. So, I did. Never underestimate the power of determination with a willingness to sacrifice.
