I only know what I have seen when they came to PA
that was enough of their 'rainbow culture' for me

I felt bad for all the volunteers and local services people who had to came out to
clean up the mess afterwards too.

Leave the fucking states. Someone mentioned not being able to live off of 12 bucks an hour... I can live off of 9.80 an hour. I pay bills, rent, and for food. Easy peasy.

you would also have to consider that your not wasting time but also gaining time by purchasing a car think of all the time youll save and how much more you could accomplish in your life time by not have to be limited to walking and carrying what you can on your back its really an investment to me the real trick is to figure how much its worth to you and how much time youll actually save all things should have a similar thought applied to them

I recently got laid off from my job. It was getting paid well too. I was a carpenters helper. I'm going back to school now though because it's getting near impossible to find work with little experience and/or education

I'm making money with my truck and tractor. Starting to get herbs, flowers and veggies from the gardens. Got our first pullet eggs. Putting up firewood for winter. Researching grants to expand farm and energy alternatives.

well I have a decent situation, I work for aa company the relines sewer pipe, at the moment infrastructure continent wide has boosted more then 25%
so since this crisis, Ive had about 6 dollars in raises per hr.

even in theses times people still have to pay their sewer bill and well no one is going to one day stop pooping.

though for the first time in my life the alast two years I have become utterly dependant on my income, of this one company. that scares me. the fact in whcih I have relied soley one plan.

Ive kept the bus in the driveway I have a stock pile of non perishables, a pond where Im breeding fish and a decent garden.

as H.H said though, bills keep on coming in, theres no chance Ill pay off my mortage any time soon. and thats the crapy part of everyones dream, buy land and live off of it.. its the paying for it which sucks....and will take most of my life.......that is retarded.

the taxes are insane, and never stop,
I came off a bus with a lot of debt and bad credit, so my rate I got was 6.5 once I did the math for a 200k piece of land, Im paying close to a million over its amortisation...

    this is doing it myself.
if shit really hits us. the only way we can get by and enjoy a somewhat comfortable existance is by living in small communities and pooling rescorces, work bills, ...the communal prcess will make us....

    together kids we can...not alone

I avoid using money as much as possible... for the most part I don't really need it for anything besides alcohol and tobacco.... I do, however, hitchhike, and I don't have any kids...

if I did have a family to take care of, I'd be looking for a community type situation... somewhere good people have land that I could work on growing food and helping out in exchange for a place where I could build a small shack......

the dumpsters in this country are still abundant.... I can go to the health food store dumpster every day, in this small town I've been staying in for the past week, and have a lot more food than 2 people can eat....

there are plenty of small farms out there that need help and would be more than happy to take on a family to help out and continue their tradition of living with the earth...

    LOVE

Humanure composting is a sustainable, cost effective, and topsoil renewing method of dealing with human "waste".....

even if you don't need the compost, it's better than "pooping" into our purified drinking water.....

Well it's been about a year since I last posted regarding working. Now we have been in PA for a year, things are great so much better and medically I am so much healthier. Now the down side. We have to move back to NJ. Don't ask me how, monetarily it seems impossible. But the drive to work for my husband is growing to be too much 3 hrs/day back and forth back and forth. It's a bit much. And on top of that we are going to have our first child. Money is such a hugely negative thing right now, I'm sure for many, but happiness should always outweigh money right? Well not in this case, we are moving back to nj and there is nothing that I can do about it. The chances of my husbands safety will grow in risk because he drives on a crazy road every day with people exceeding 85mi/hr or more.
Now I also need to get a car and figure out where we will be able to afford to live. So the car is going to be at least 10k and a home in NJ pffffft. It's going to be probably 2500 in advance that I'm going to need with the down deposit and the 1st months rent being that we have no money for a down payment on a house.
Yet...Every time I read my tarot cards the cards always denote that I will be very rich and successful, ever since I was a child, that is what these cards have read.
    I don't get it.
    I really don't.

most recently I've made 150 bucks through ebay selling Grateful Dead songbooks. I was surprized actually I didn't think any would sell in the economy but I got rid of 6 outta 8 of them. My old man is going out to california in the second week in Sept to get a trim job out there. Then coming back here with a vehicle and we are getting back to Tennessee. I've enrolled myself into an online school for Business Administration dealing with health care management. Health Care of all kinds is increasing in demand right now. So is the computer industry. That's how I would say you could make some decent money right now.

Dilli and HHB are right though, if you've got a piece of land and do the garden thing and get more than enough to sustain your fmaily then the left over food can go into stock pile, be barrdered or sold at a farmers market. I wish I knew how to garden but I just am one of the folks that buys from a farmers market, cuz farm fresh is 100 times better than store bought and if you're a regular customer than the farmer is more likely to give you discounts and deals.

Isn't life a bell curve though? Throughout history we have seen the lowest of lows and the highest of highs. So isn't opportunity about to swing back up again in the near future?
