2 people were killed and 8 injured from lightning strikes last week!
1 person was struck and killed by lightning in Florida, today!

July is the peak month for lightning strikes and lightning related deaths. June is the 2nd lightning prone month.

According to the National Climatic Data Center, there were over 750 lightning incidents/reports across the United States in 2008.

So which state reported the most lightning incidents in 2008? (Lightning incidents include buildings and humans struck by lightning)

I love t-boomers. I like to go outside during them and film them. No 2 lightning strikes are the same, which always makes it fun. But of course, since I am in Las Vegas, I dont have a lot of chances, except during August, when the monsoon season hits.

    Zillagod, those are fantastic photos!

I was filming a small thunderstorm out my window a few weeks ago and captured a somewhat close lightning strike. Its nothing spectacular but it was my first attempt at something like this:

Thank you. I get out into the storms and video them and then extract the pics from the video. Did this just an hour ago as we had some t-boomers move through Vegas tonight.

We had more t-boomers last night. Of course, I was outside filming. I still have to find the proper settings for my video camera as my pics arent as clear as they could be, but some really great shots came about last night.

Just remember the most important rule about lightning: if you're out in a storm, the safest place to seek shelter is under a tall tree.:)

Yeah right. Anyway, I have all my knowledge, and a close bond with Mom(mother nature). I dont run from her, and I will be outside when lightning strikes. If it hits me, than so be it.
