1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

rabbits cost nothing to raise.. they can be raised 100% off of vegetation foraged from your yard and scraps from veggies grown in your garden.

we go out every evening and pick a 5 gallon bucket of grass and clover out of the yard and thats pretty much it.

we do supplement the does feed with rabbit food because she has the babies to nurse but that isnt really necessary..

It's ok to freeze shit. Fresh is better, but it can't always be fresh.

It depends, but we don't have much frozen stuff around here because we don't have a freezer. We usually use fresh potatoes, I really shy away from instant mashed potatoes. I prefer canned green beans because they make french cut in a can and I don't like them any other way unless they're fresh from the garden. I like dry beans best, but I'll settle for canned since dry beans take so damn long to cook. I'm not picky at all about corn, but I do think frozen is superior to fresh which is superior to canned, lol. Carrots have to be fresh because I rarely eat them cooked... As far as meat goes, well, I tend to stick it in the mini fridge up close to the metal rack that keeps the whole thing cold and it usually freezes there. When you have a mini fridge instead of a full-sized one, it makes it harder to go fresh or frozen.

    Frozen over canned.

Canned has too many preservatives and the veggies are gross and mushy.

Fresh is lovely, but I don't grocery shop every day.
