Actually was when I was living in Salt Lake city for a spell.

Rode my bicycle 6 hours through the mountains to some lake. That was back in 85. Also had a great experience in Liberty Park in SLC.

And of course the best was hiking/camping with my brother in the mountains here in hawaii back in 79. That was prolly the best. We were one with nature.

My worst trip was when I was going through a divorce back in SLC. I got all emotional and weepy and shit. I'll never forget that.

2 trips stand out in my mind

one would be the... 4th? time I did lsd, when I first experienced what I now call "ego death"

the other would be a shrooms/x trip where I kind of pieced together the events of my life for the last few years and learned to be with myself

Both were wonderful, one broke me apart, one put me back together

Hawaii, LSD, and two scuba dives. One day dive that overstimulated but not overwhelmed me, came up half as early as everyone else due to sucking so much damn oxygen, and thus was the only person around to jump back into the water when the dolphin pod showed up. Swam toward em for a sec, then just floated as the pod split with 2/3 going to my right, 1/3 to my left, including the baby [=)))))], chased at a manta ray the cptn saw off in the distance, never found it, still had a blast snorkeling while I finished coming up. Night dive was like...full immersion existence. The blackness of the water looked syrupy (like the diver in front of me jumped off the boat, and the water his splash splashed onto the deck looked like it slowly evaporated back into the water. the crew watchin people get off looked at me weird, cause i sat there for like three minutes staring at the receding water, with a line of divers behind me), and the bioluminescence was...well, bioluminescence is fantastic sober, but when the seemingly random, flittering light turns into full-fledged patterns, it's something else. We descended into a world of darkness, with a single stick of light to guide our way. Had a very abyssal feel for only 60 ft of water. When the descent finally got to the bottom, we wandered a bit while the boat crew set up the light basket (attracts plankton, which attracts the manta rays), and found some turtles sleeping on the bottom. I've always had a thing for turtles, have had the turtle in my room for..going on 13 years. but these turtles just...radiated wisdom. No creature has ever seemed so...full of applicable spiritual knowledge in my entire life. The octopus were just visual stimulus orgasms, expanding and contracting various parts of their bodies as they moved about. About the time we saw this blue spotted eel, the light baskets were all set up, so we went over and made a big circle around them. It kinda felt like a concert, cause we all had glowsticks attached to our tanks, and that's all you could see of most of the people, and felt like at a concert when everyone raises their lighters, which added a nice spiritual vibe to the whole event. Pretty soon after, the mind-blowing began. Out of the darkness, like some great, fifteen-foot-winged aqua-bat, came these...perfectly harmonious creatures. I could actually See the water accommodate their every supple move, flowing inside their mouths, and out their gills. The greatest part of the entire trip came when this tailless manta flew right above my head, actually brushing my hair. I looked up, and there was this white expanse filling my vision. As he slowly, ever so slowly, flapped his wings, time slowed to a crawl, and although my mind knew he was just moving slowly, economically, the trip decided otherwise; the bubbles from fellow divers slowed to the pace of the flap, taking minutes to reach the surface. I could hear the 35 mm camera next to me shudder seconds after its light flashed, spreading like a radar across the entirety of this temporary existence. The moment ended fairly soon afterward, and the rest of the trip/dive was just a bubbly, happy glow, knowing that in this other dimension, many creatures still retained the harmony I seek to return to. Turned off my light for the ascent so that I could bask in the glorious void, returned to the boat, and introspected on the night for the rest of the vacation.

Sorry for such a long post, but you asked for my best. =)

ObsceneMachine, WOW! I've wanted to trip & dive ever since I first started diving but was always concerned that I wasn't experienced enough in either field. I've especially wanted to trip on a night dive. That sounds fucking amazing though, and dolphins, turtles and a manta.. that would be a sensational dive regardless.

How many dives and how many trips did you have under your belt when you did this?

I don't think I could identify my best trip. I want to say, full moon party and a shitload of mushrooms that sent me the furthest away I've ever been from reality, things got real crazy real soon, I'm talking abysmal insanity, I don't want to get into details, but I had severe auditory hallucinations, made some truly profound realizations, connected with the divine, and died.

My second trip was the best - a group of friends and I all took 2C-I and went a couple hours out to a nice isolated spot so that we could enjoy some nature, which had been severely lacking in my first experience.

That first trip had been really intense and confusing. I think my memory blocked out a lot of it because certain parts were somewhat unpleasant/uncomfortable - so by the time I was getting ready for my second trip, I had totally forgotten what it was like to be tripping. I took the capsule of 2C-I and thought, yeah, we're going to be hiking up this trail for a while, see some pretty colors, talk about some weird shit, then come back right on schedule 6 hours after we left.

Of course, that never really happens. :D On psychedelics, things just fall into place... the world becomes a playground for your mind. We didn't get back until late at night, and nor did we want to. The day just felt so complete. Indescribable feeling.

Yeah that's exactly what 2C-C did for me! Wow the 2c's are quite nice, definetely superior to MDMA in sheer trip and side effects imo

I've been diving since I was 11, and that dive was on my 18th birthday, and I had something like 160 dives back then. I'd first dropped when I was 16, and acid-wise I'd dropped between 3-6 hits four times, and mushrooms more than I could possibly count. I have to say, a sober buddy is an absolute necessity. I tried LSA and diving soon after that, and it was a much more manageable dive; on LSD I was just flowing. Which was nice, but it means I'd recommend an LSA dive first, so you can kinda balance out your breathing so you can still get your full time. And it's still a nice dive; you regain the full color spectrum that gets minorly skewed by depth. I kinda wanna try mushrooms and diving, but I'm kinda worried I might get the queasies and have to vomit at eighty feet. Great for attracting fish, I guess.

Original post says any type of psychedelic. Maybe it's some unwritten rule that I shouldn't be in this forum in the first place if some LSD trip wasn't my favorite?

And yeah. 2c-e can cause a fair bit of nausea, but it's different for everyone. When I took it, my stomach felt really uncomfortable during the comeup and I had to sit back on a couch while the pretty colors were appearing, but I never felt like puking. Dose was around 22 mg, by the way.
