I meant on headphones. I'm not rude. When people play their dumbed down, mainstream pop/rap music on full blast and the ground is shaking from the bass, I wanna follow them home, wait till its night time, and slice up their tires.
I hear that shit all the time. its not even good music lol its Spanish rap music or some lady gaga shit. I hope they go deaf after that.
Hell yeah. I don't wanna go to jail or get fined for slicing up their tires. It's called being smart.
maybe hearing loss runs in my family, but my dad went to a number of shows as a kid/young man and depending on where yuo are at a show, live music can produce maximum volume. i don't think we will go completely deaf as a generation, but a large majority may be hearing impaired to varyin degrees. can we cure deafness? I don't know, but hearing aid already work wonders. My father has them thank goodnes! otherwise i'd go insane repeating myself. These things are tiny and getting better with time. my question is that perhaps even though our earcells are dying (that which allow for hearing) could there be a 3rd ear situation, similar to the 3rd eye (perhaps they are already synonymous) which could be getting more adept with change...
The Who used to routinely crank out 120 dB or more at the front of the stage. You will definitely get damage in a couple of hours at that level. One sure sign of damage is if you wake up the morning after a concert or night out at a club and your ears are still ringing. It should stop within an hour or two after the music is over. If there are speaker stacks on both sides of a stage, the volume level will not start to drop off until you are further away from the speakers than they are from each other.
That's not true at all..... When I saw Priest,Motorhead,Sabbath, and Testament I was right up front. This has happened to me whenever I go to a concert and am up close... My ears rang for 2 days after. Then a couple weeks later I went to a hearing doctor (unrelated to the ear ringing) and the guy said I had perfect hearing.
i don't know if ringing matters this is a fact: but whenever you hear a high pitch hiss in your ear, and don't know what it is...that is the death of an ear cell, which will never be replaced
sorry i knew that, and you are right. i wrote that too quickly, and was too high thanks for correcting me
He couldn't tell you that day what your hearing is going to be like 10 years from now, if you continued to go to similar concerts on a regular basis. The damage is slow but cumulative, like grains of sand passing through an hourglass. Don't get me wrong, I like it loud too. I just want to avoid crossing the line, so that I can still be enjoying it when I'm 80. The two are related.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noise-induced_hearing_loss#Mechanism i think its about time for the wiki.
Wrong generation. Ever heard of metal? But we do have lots of noise these days. My hearing has been damaged by noise and ambient drone music over the last 4 years.
